He joined the construction and civil and commercial litigation group of the Montreal office in 2007, after articling there. Antonio serves a varied clientele that ranges from owners of construction projects, general contractors and specialized entrepreneurs to trust companies, financial institutions, estate liquidators, trustees and trust beneficiaries. In construction law, Antonio advises clients on construction contracts. He is involved in a major dispute involving an EPCM (engineering, procurement, construction and management) project, where he represents a mining company. Furthermore, Antonio assists his clients in dealing with claims, managing disbursements, drafting contracts and obtaining permits from the Régie du bâtiment du Québec or authorizations from the Autorité des marchés financiers for signing public contracts and subcontracts covered by the Act respecting contracting by public bodies. In estate law, Antonio litigates the interpretation or validity of wills, as well as the rights, powers and obligations of liquidators, trustees, heirs and beneficiaries of estates and testamentary trusts. Antonio has guided clients in the amending and termination of testamentary trusts. He participated in a major dispute in which he had to defend the interests of a corporate trustee sued by the capital beneficiaries of a nearly 70-year-old testamentary trust. He has also developed expertise in disputes involving the homologation of incapacity mandates. Antonio has argued matters before all courts of Québec as well as before arbitration boards. A proud polyglot Montrealer, Antonio fluently speaks English, French, Italian and Spanish. Antonio concentrates his practice in the following areas: Litigation and settlement of construction disputes: claims for additional costs, management of advances, drafting of contracts, obtaining of RBQ licenses, AMF authorization. Litigation and settlement of disputes involving estates and trusts: homologation of mandates, opening of protective supervision, interpretation or validity of wills, rights, powers and obligations of liquidators, trustees, heirs and beneficiaries of estates, modification of trusts.
