Quitte ou double pour les PEUGEOT 208
WRX en Argentine
Disputée à Rosario (Argentine) le 27 novembre, la finale du Championnat du
Monde FIA de Rallycross sera décisive pour l’attribution du titre par équipe.
Déjà auteurs de deux victoires cette saison, Sébastien Loeb et Timmy Hansen,
mettront tout en œuvre pour que le Team Peugeot Hansen finisse au mieux la
saison et, pourquoi pas, conserve sa couronne.

Avec 17 points de retard, la mission s’annonce très compliquée mais le Team Peugeot Hansen,
bien que plus maître de son destin, est fermement déterminé à déployer sa traditionnelle « never
give up attitude » afin de défendre son titre mondial. Ses deux pilotes, Sébastien Loeb et Timmy
Hansen, exploiteront tout leur talent et le potentiel de leur puissante PEUGEOT 208 WRX pour
combler le retard et renverser la situation au championnat.

Troisième ville d’Argentine, Rosario a déjà souri aux troupes de Peugeot cette année. C’est en effet
au pied du monument national au drapeau que Stéphane Peterhansel a remporté en janvier dernier
le Dakar au volant de la PEUGEOT 2008 DKR. Les PEUGEOT 208 WRX tenteront de laisser, elles
aussi, leur trace sur le livre d’or argentin !


« Il est vrai que nous avons laissé un certain nombre de points en cours de route cette saison !mais nous
savons aussi que la PEUGEOT 208 WRX a bien progressé depuis Barcelone. Et tout est possible en
Rallycross. Nous l’avons déjà démontré en certaines occasions. Toute l’équipe est concentrée pour réussir un
week-end parfait à Rosario. Ce sera nécessaire pour conserver notre titre à défaut d’être suffisant. »

« Je connais bien l’Argentine pour y avoir couru de nombreuses fois en WRC et pour y avoir disputer mon
premier Dakar, en janvier dernier. J’aime la ferveur manifestée par ce public passionné. J’espère que les
spectateurs seront aussi démonstratifs à Rosario pour le Rallycross. Nous sommes encore en lice pour le titre
par équipe. Cela ne s’annonce pas simple mais j’ai déjà eu plusieurs occasions de constater que tout est
possible en Rallycross ! Nous allons nous battre jusqu’au bout. »

« L’Argentine est une étape vraiment spéciale. La piste était très intéressante l’année dernière même si elle
s’était montrée très poussiéreuse, ce qui avait créé de nombreux problèmes. J’espère que les organisateurs ont
fait le nécessaire pour remédier à cette situation. A part ce détail, cette piste me convient bien. Je crois que
c’est celle où je me suis montré le plus rapide la saison dernière. Notre PEUGEOT 208 RX 2016 étant plus
rapide que sa devancière, j’espère bien briller lors de cette ultime manche pour permettre à l’équipe de
remporter un deuxième titre successif. »

A PROPOS DU RALLYCROSS
Les épreuves de rallycross se disputent sur des tracés mixtes, 60% terre et 40% asphalte. Ils sont longs
d’environ 1 kilomètre et parfois parsemés de sauts. Les pilotes sont progressivement éliminés au cours du
week-end et seuls les six compétiteurs les plus rapides et les plus téméraires ont la possibilité de se battre
pour la finale.

Double or quits for the PEUGEOT 208 WRXs
in Argentina
The final round of the 2016 FIA World Rallycross Championship in Rosario,
Argentina, is poised to settle the battle for this year’s Teams’ title. Sébastien
Loeb and Timmy Hansen, who have clocked up two victories for Team Peugeot
Hansen so far, will do everything in their power to conclude the campaign in
style and attempt to defend the squad’s 2015 crown.

With a gap of 17 points to bridge, Team Peugeot Hansen has absolutely no intention of giving up
its bid to defend its 2015 Teams’ crown, even though the outcome is not entirely in its hands. Its
drivers Sébastien Loeb and Timmy Hansen will use their skill and the potential of the powerful
PEUGEOT 208 WRX to reverse the positions at the top of the provisional Teams’ points table.

Rosario has already been the scene of success for Peugeot this year since it was at the foot of its
National Monument to the Flag landmark that Stéphane Peterhansel celebrated victory at the end
of last January’s Dakar in the PEUGEOT 2008 DKR. This time, it is the PEUGEOT 208 WRX that
will be looking to make the headlines in Argentina’s third-biggest city!


“It’s true that we have squandered a certain number of points in the course of the season but we also know
that the PEUGEOT 208 WRX has progressed since Barcelona, and anything is possible in rallycross. We
have shown that several times in the past and the whole team is focused on achieving the perfect weekend

Rally Championship, as well as on the Dakar for the first time back in January. I love the passion the

PEUGEOT 208 RX is faster than the 2015 car so I’m hoping for a top result to help the team win the
Teams’ title for the second year running.”

ABOUT RALLYCROSS
Rallycross events use mixed-surface asphalt/dirt (60%/40%) circuits of about one kilometre in length and
can feature one or more jumps. The drivers are knocked out as the weekend progresses and only the six
fastest and bravest of them get to contest the final.
