The Faculty - Director and Master Teacher: Dr. Daniel Jutras: - Instructors in training: Sasha Malashenko and Julie The Child In her vision, wisdom and analytical research, Dr. Maria Montessori saw life as a continuum, each stage evolving from the preceding one and preparing for the next. The Children’s House lays the foundation of the inquiring mind of the 2½ to 5 year old interested in "What" and "Where". This is the age of the inside unheard demand: “Help me to do it by myself” or the experimenting hands: “I can do it”. However, the mind of the older child (6 to 9) functions in a new way: "Why", "How" and "When" are the consuming questions and interests. The chil d n o w s e e k s a n d n e e d s a n introduction to and an overview of just about everything. His/her motto is: “The more I undertake, the more I learn”. This is the Age for Cosmic Education and the search for new ideas and solutions in a personal, meaningful and cooperative way. Course Outline Montessori’s vision is that her approach of education provides “a help for life” for the child. Learning to implement this fundamental principle is an essential part of the Montessori Diploma courses. Instructors are committed to explain the theoretical framework for understanding the child’s development, and the philosophical, scientific and historical foundations of the Montessori approach and its modernity and to model the use of developmentally appropriate materials in: Montessori Teacher Early Childhood Education Course : Motor development and control of movement through daily life activities, music and rhythm Sensorial foundations of intellectual life The acquisition of spoken and graphic language The early awareness and preparation of the mathematical mind The presentation of scientific and cultural subjects Lyras - Teaching Practice Coordinator: Julie Lyras Parent education and classroom management. - Guidance Counsellor: Jocelyne Martel Construction of hand-made materials. - Webmaster & Co-director of the Institute: Julien Jutras The Canadian Montessori Teacher Education Institute L'Institut québécois de formation de maîtres Montessori 2016-2017 Montreal - West End Friday (6:30 PM - 10:00 PM) Saturday (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM) September 2016 Su Mo Tu We 4 11 18 25 5 12 19 26 6 13 20 27 7 14 21 28 Th 1 8 15 22 29 Fr 2 9 16 23 30 October 2016 Sa 3 10 17 24 Su Mo Tu We Th Fr 2 9 16 23 30 3 10 17 24 31 4 11 18 25 5 12 19 26 6 13 20 27 7 14 21 28 December 2016 Su 4 11 18 25 Mo 5 12 19 26 Tu 6 13 20 27 We 7 14 21 28 Th 1 8 15 22 29 Fr 2 9 16 23 30 Mo Tu 5 12 19 26 6 13 20 27 7 14 21 28 We 1 8 15 22 29 Th 2 9 16 23 30 Sa 1 8 15 22 29 Su Mo 6 13 20 27 7 14 21 28 January 2017 3 10 17 24 31 Su 1 8 15 22 29 Mo 2 9 16 23 30 Tu 3 10 17 24 31 We 4 11 18 25 Th 5 12 19 26 Fr 6 13 20 27 Sa 7 14 21 28 Su Mo Tu 5 12 19 26 6 13 20 27 7 14 21 28 April 2017 Fr 3 10 17 24 31 Sa 4 11 18 25 Fr 2 9 16 23 30 Sa 3 10 17 24 Tu 1 8 15 22 29 We 2 9 16 23 30 Th 3 10 17 24 Fr 4 11 18 25 Sa 5 12 19 26 Fr 3 10 17 24 Sa 4 11 18 25 Fr 5 12 19 26 Sa 6 13 20 27 February 2017 Sa March 2017 Su November 2016 We 1 8 15 22 Th 2 9 16 23 May 2017 Su Mo Tu We Th Fr 2 9 16 23 30 3 10 17 24 4 11 18 25 5 12 19 26 6 13 20 27 7 14 21 28 Sa 1 8 15 22 29 Su 7 14 21 28 Mo 1 8 15 22 29 Tu 2 9 16 23 30 We 3 10 17 24 31 Th 4 11 18 25 June 2017 Su Mo Tu We 4 11 18 25 5 12 19 26 6 13 20 27 7 14 21 28 Th 1 8 15 22 29 - Final Written Examination: 36 hours/home base from Friday evening May 19th to Sunday morning 21st 2017 - Final Practical Examination: Saturday June 17th 2017 at the Montreal West-End training location The Canadian Montessori Teacher Education Institute L'Institut québécois de formation de maîtres Montessori 2016-2017 Montréal _Est/East Friday/ Vendredi (6:30 PM - 10:00 PM) Saturday/Samedi (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM) September / septembre 2016 Su di Mo lu Tu ma We me 4 11 18 25 5 12 19 26 6 13 20 27 7 14 21 28 Th je 1 8 15 22 29 Fr ve 2 9 16 23 30 Sa sa 3 10 17 24 October / octobre 2016 Su di Mo lu Tu ma We me Th je Fr ve 2 9 16 23 30 3 10 17 24 31 4 11 18 25 5 12 19 26 6 13 20 27 7 14 21 28 December / décembre 2016 Su di Mo lu Tu ma We me 4 11 18 25 5 12 19 26 6 13 20 27 7 14 21 28 Th je 1 8 15 22 29 Fr ve 2 9 16 23 30 Sa sa 3 10 17 24 31 Mo lu Tu ma 5 12 19 26 6 13 20 27 7 14 21 28 We me 1 8 15 22 29 Th je 2 9 16 23 30 Fr ve 3 10 17 24 31 Sa sa 1 8 15 22 29 Su di Mo lu 6 13 20 27 7 14 21 28 January / janvier 2017 Su di 1 8 15 22 29 Mo lu 2 9 16 23 30 March / mars 2017 Su di November / novembre 2016 Tu ma 3 10 17 24 31 We me 4 11 18 25 Th je 5 12 19 26 Fr ve 6 13 20 27 Su di Mo lu Tu ma We me Th je Fr ve 2 9 16 23 30 3 10 17 24 4 11 18 25 5 12 19 26 6 13 20 27 7 14 21 28 We me 2 9 16 23 30 Th je 3 10 17 24 Fr ve 4 11 18 25 Sa sa 5 12 19 26 February / février 2017 Sa sa 7 14 21 28 Su di Mo lu Tu ma 5 12 19 26 6 13 20 27 7 14 21 28 April / avril 2017 Sa sa 4 11 18 25 Tu ma 1 8 15 22 29 We me 1 8 15 22 Th je 2 9 16 23 Fr ve 3 10 17 24 Sa sa 4 11 18 25 May / mai 2017 Sa sa 1 8 15 22 29 Su di 7 14 21 28 Mo lu 1 8 15 22 29 Tu ma 2 9 16 23 30 We me 3 10 17 24 31 Th je 4 11 18 25 Fr ve 5 12 19 26 Sa sa 6 13 20 27 June / juin 2017 Su di Mo lu Tu ma We me 4 11 18 25 5 12 19 26 6 13 20 27 7 14 21 28 Th je 1 8 15 22 29 Fr ve 2 9 16 23 30 Sa sa 3 10 17 24 - Final Written Examination: 36 hours/home base from Friday evening May 19th to Sunday morning 21st 2017 - Examen écrit de fin de parcours: entre le vendredi 19 mai et le dimanche 21 mai (36 heures depuis la maison) - Final Practical Examination: Sunday June 18th 2017 at the Montreal East training location - Examen oral de fin de parcours: le dimanche 18 juin.
