Featuring a swooping and streamlined design that screamed speed, performance, and sex appeal, Jaguar’s XK 120
changed the world when it was unveiled at the Earls Court Motor Show in 1948. More importantly, it had the
performance to back up its breath-taking appearance. In 1949, following a speed run on a Belgian highway in which
an XK 120 ran 126 mph with its windshield on and 132 mph without, the XK 120 was deemed the fastest production
car in the world.
This stunning XK 120, chassis 676091, was delivered new in 1954 to Frankly W. Taylor in California. After spending
the majority of its life in the dry California climate, the Jaguar was then sold to Europe in 2010, where the new Italian
owner sent it to Tappezzeria Maieli, near Mantova, to be re-trimmed in tan, with a matching hood, as well as have it
serviced for essential maintenance. The consignor, an avid enthusiast with more than 30 cars to his collection,
ensures that each is “on the button” and ready to be enjoyed at a moment’s notice.

monde lorsqu'elle a été dévoilée au Salon de Londres 1948, à Earls Court. De plus, elle offrait les performances qui
correspondaient à son allure impressionnante. En 1949, après avoir atteint 193 et 212 km/h avec et sans pare-brise
lors d'un essai effectué sur une autoroute belge, la Jaguar XK 120 a pris la place de voiture de série la plus rapide
du monde.
Cette superbe XK 120, châssis 676091, a été livrée neuve en 1954 à Frankly W. Taylor, en Californie. Après avoir
passé la majeure partie de son existence dans le climat sec de cette contrée, la Jaguar était vendue en 2010 en
Europe, où son nouveau propriétaire italien l'envoyait chez Tappezzeria Maieli, près de Mantoue ; elle y recevait une
sellerie neuve en cuir beige, ainsi qu'une capote assortie, et bénéficiait d'une révision d'entretien. Le propriétaire
actuel, un passionné enthousiaste dont la collection comporte plus de 30 voitures, assure que chacune d'elle
démarre "au quart de tour", prête à offrir les plaisirs de conduite.
