Nokia 9768 Metro Radio Outdoor - Alcatel
Nokia 9768 Metro Radio Outdoor B13 1W LTE The Nokia 9768 Metro Radio Outdoor (MRO) B13 is a next-generation radio based on Nokia Bell Labs groundbreaking lightRadio™ cube that brings together the latest innovations in antennas, amplifiers and transceivers to minimize size and improve radio frequency (RF) performance. The 9768 MRO is designed to be deployed as an overlay in areas covered by LTE macro eNodeBs. Macro eNodeBs cover wide geographical areas with moderate subscriber densities; single or multiple 9768 MROs can provide capacity relief in places where large numbers of subscribers congregate, such as stadiums, large enterprises and shopping malls. The Nokia 9768 MRO is small enough to be mounted on a wall, the side of a building or a pole and operates in 3GPP band 13 (upper 700 MHz). The 9768 B13 MRO is available with integrated antennas or with external antenna connector ports to provide deployment flexibility. With its external antenna ports and low RF power, it is also ideally suited for frontend RF conversion in Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS). The Nokia 9768 MRO has two dual transmit/ receive path providing 500mW per path with two-way receive (Rx) diversity. The MRO is ideally suited to support dense metro hotspots with multiple-input multiple output (MIMO), single input multiple outout (SIMO) or single input single output (SISO) operation in up to 10 MHz of bandwidth. 9768 MRO with integrated antenna 1 9768 MRO with external antenna ports Data Sheet Nokia 9768 Metro Radio Outdoor Innovative Architecture • Reduced costs through leveraging the same BBU resources as the macro network Based on the distributed eNodeB architecture, the 9768 MRO connects to an external baseband unit (BBU). The BBU comes in a conventional or clustered configuration and may be located at the same location as the MRO or at a different location. The MRO connects to the BBU through an optical fiber, using Common Public Radio Interface (CPRI) and supports CPRI daisy chaining*, thereby enabling multiple MROs to connect to the BBU over the same optical cable. This architecture maximizes deployment flexibility while optimizing the use of the BBU digital assets and connectivity costs. • Reduced connectivity costs with multiple MROs sharing the same optical fiber backhaul to the BBU Features • Small, lightweight unit that can be mounted on a wall, the side of a building or pole • Software upgradeable to support additional features in the future, such as LTE-A HetNet Technical Specifications Physical dimensions • Height: 454 mm (17.87 in.) • Width: 173 mm (6.81 in.) • Depth: –– 201 mm (7.91 in.)
