ISORA'2005
Announcement and Call for Papers
The 5th International Symposium on Operations Research and Its Applications
August 9-13, 2005, Lhasa, Tibet, China
THEME AND SCOPE:
The 5th International Symposium on Operations Research and Its Applications (ISORA’05),
organized by Asia & Pacific Operations Research Center and the Operations Research Society of
China, will be held in Lhasa, Tibetan Autonomous Region, China from August 9 to 13, 2005.
ISORA is a series international symposium with goals to provide an international forum for
scientists, researchers, educators, and practitioners to exchange ideas and approaches, to present
research findings and state-of-the-art solutions, to share experiences on potentials and limits, and to
open new avenues of research and developments, on all issues and topics related to the theories and
applications of Operations Research. Theme of the ISORA’05 will be focused on “OR in the
Global and Networked World”. We are particularly interested in submissions that report on
experimental and applied research motivated by real-world problems. Theoretical and applied
papers are expected to show convincingly the usefulness and efficiency of optimization algorithms
discussed in a practical setting. Typical, but not exclusive, topics of interest are:
Optimization theory, Algorithm analysis and design, Logistics Management, Telecommunication
Networks, Bioinfomatics, Applications in industry, service, finance, business and biology.
LANGUAGE
The working language of the conference will be English.

Registration fee is $480 USD before July 1, 2005 and $550USD after.
All attendees should be registered. The registration fee will include a copy of the conference
proceedings, welcome reception, conference banquet, lunches and dinners, local bus transportation
and teas/coffee. Because of the Tibetan high-plateau climate conditions and for conference
manageable resources, number of attendees is limited to no more than 60 and on-site registration is
not possible. Early registration is strongly encouraged. Please look at the Registration Form for

Applied Mathematics, ENSEEIHT, Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse, France
The position of Professor in Applied Mathematics is with the Parallel Algorithm and Optimization
team of ENSEEIHT-IRIT (UMR CNRS 5505). Applications are welcome from persons who
strengthen the existing research activities. Particularly encouraged are applicants with strong
records of research and achievement in Optimization and Optimal Control. Current research of
the team, which also includes Numerical Linear Algebra, addresses for instance optimal control
problems arising in spaceflight dynamics.
The person appointed to the position will be expected to teach Pure and Applied Mathematics at
Master level in the Computer Science and Applied Mathematics department of ENSEEIHT.
ENSEEIHT is a French Grande Ecole attached to the Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse.
