The property was worked under l e a s e i n 1903 and two apparently new a d i t s w e r e d r i v e n t o l e n g t h s of 325 and 45', and t h e s h a f t deepened t o 70 ' The P r e t t y G i r l claim was re-Crown-granted t o J a s McKay i n 1914. The following y e a r t h e claim was acquired by Messrs. Peake and Cornwall, who had re-staked a d j a c e n t l a p s e d claims; no work was reported. DESCRIPTION OF DEPOSITIDESCRIPTION DU GISEMENT No f u r t h e r a c t i v i t y was recorded u n t i l 1927 when prospectMap 1326 A i n d i c a t e s t h e a r e a i s u n d e r l a i n by P r o t e r o z o i c sedimentary rocks of t h e Horsethief Creek group. Early s u r f a c e i n g w a s done. I n 1928 North Kootenay Mines, ~ i m i t e dacquired t h e property and some a c t i v i t y apparently continued u n t i l t h e workings were r e p o r t e d l y i n s h a l e o r slate dipping n e a r f a l l of 1929, b u t t h e r e is no r e p o r t of work donev e r t i c a l and s t r i k i n g about N25OW. The upper a d i t e v i d e n t l y Pearson, Gallagher Ltd., of Nelson, h e l d t h e property i n followed a v e i n , which v a r i e s from a seam up t o 10 inches i n 1981. width, c o n s i s t i n g of q u a r t z somewhat s t a i n e d w i t h malachite (copper carbonate). The o r e i n t h e s h a f t , some of which was shipped and some specimens of which a r e s t i l l t o be seen on t h e dump, c a r r i e d grey-copper with, i t i s s a i d , high values i n silver.
