DESUP POST-GRADUATE DIPLOMA INTERNATIONAL TOURISM Excellence the French way IREST RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF TOURISM IN HIGHER EDUCATION UNIVERSITÉ PARIS 1 PANTHÉON - SORBONNE The one best way to tourism A HIGH-LEVEL DIPLOMA OFFERED BY UNIVERSITÉ PARIS 1 L’IREST, at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, provides high-level training for international tourism professionals with higher education degrees or professional experience, wishing to gain specific knowledge about French expertise in tourism. It includes a core curriculum and two different pathways: ➤ ➤ Local tourism development Hotel development Teaching is carried out in French and/or English by university lecturers as well as French and foreign tourism specialists. The course includes two study trips, followed by a traineeship in the public services sector or with a tourism operator. Following successful completion of the course, students will be awarded the Post-graduate diploma of Université Paris 1 PanthéonSorbonne (DESUP). Who is this course for? The Post Graduate Diploma in International Tourism, “Excellence the French way”, is aimed at graduates, as well as foreign professionals who have completed at least four years of higher education. Professionals can also request accreditation of their prior work experience. To register for the DESUP, applicants are invited to submit a candidate file, which must include a professional project, for approval by the Board of Examiners. Our graduates find employment in various fields of international tourism; some examples of careers and institutions include: Management: Manager, project manager, research manager, head of international markets, development manager, marketing manager, director. National and international tourism bodies or tourism-related organizations, and major international tour operators: hotel chains (hotel manager, marketing manager, banqueting manager, etc.), destination management companies (corporate tourism, events planning and management), airlines, tour operators (design and development of tourist products, programme and product managers, package tour operators), finance operators. Consultants, experts and instructors.
