The Township of Chapleau in partnership with Ontario Job Creation Partnership is looking to fill the position of Communications and Promotions / Special Projects Assistant (2 positions) (1 year contract) Job Description: The 2 positions will work with township employees in accomplishing work defined in the Chapleau Economic Recovery Program as well as the Chapleau Revitalization Project. The work will be in collaboration with the Chapleau Economic Development Corporation and other committees of Council. Tasks will include but are not limited to; research and information gathering, preparing letters, filing, organizing agendas for meetings, searching for funding opportunities, promoting local festivals and local events, creation of a local tourism center and helping to develop a marketing strategy and plan for future expansion of projects and activities. Requirements: Grade 12 education or grade 12 equivalency (mandatory) Post-secondary education is considered an asset Biligualism (french and english) Capable of working independently and organized Computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Web pages, Internet) Reporting skills Letter writing skills Eligibility: Individuals who are currently in receipt of Employment Insurance or whose claim has ended within the past 36 months. Individuals must be unemployed or working less than 20hrs per week Individuals who are re-entering the workforce after they were paid maternity or paternity benefits within the last 60 months. Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident legally authorized to work in Canada, and be a resident of Ontario. Il s’agit d’un travail collaboratif avec la Société de développement économique de Chapleau de même qu’avec d’autres comités relevant du conseil municipal. Les tâches inclueront, entre autres; la recherche et la cueillette d’information, la formulation de lettres, le classement, la préparation des ordres du jour pour les réunions, la recherche d’octrois, la promotion de festivals et de manifestations locales, la création d’un centre touristique et l’aide au développement d’une stratégie de marketing et d’un plan favorisant l’expansion future de projets et d’activités. Exigences: Diplôme de 12e année ou son équivalent (obligatoire). Les études post-secondaires sont considérées un atout. Être bilingue (français et anglais). Habileté de travailler sans supervision et posséder le sens d’organisation. Compétences en informatique (Microsoft Office Suite, pages Web, Internet) Compétences en la préparation de rapports Habileté de formuler des lettres Admissibilité: Toute personne recevant des prestations d’assurance-emploi ou dont la période de prestations d'assurance-emploi a pris fin au cours des trois dernières années.
