Who are we? The Michael Skopp Foundation was established by Rosemarie Skopp on July 11, 2006 under the auspices of the Bielefelder Bürgerstiftung (Bielefeld Citizen Foundation) and following the long-standing commitment of pharmacist couple Skopp to their „Treffpunkt Gesundheit" (Rendezvous Health), which they started in 2003. The Foundation is dedicated to their son Michael who died in 2000 and who always had a heart for Guatemala and for children ... Our Objectives Our Advantage The aim of the Michael Skopp Foundation is the regional and worldwide promotion of public Health Services as well as training and education. We support already existing projects and develop new ones under our own initiative. The main focus is always to provide aid for children in need. ● ● Our projects – local Our projects - worldwide In the area of personal health care we organise not only regular groups (e.g. memory training, singing, dancing) but also singular ad-hoc activities such as lectures, seminars and workshops in our premises at „Treffpunkt Gesundheit" in BielefeldSennestadt. All income resulting from these activities is donated in full to the Foundation. In addition we support projects, local clubs, schools and organisations promoting children. The school partnership between the Astrid-Lindgren-School in Sennestadt and the School Santa Teresita in Chimaltenango has produced great interest on both sides. Further school partnerships are planned. Our Guatemalan colleagues supervise specifically chosen projects in the country's slums ● The building of classrooms and toilets for the Santa Teresita School in Chimaltenango ● Teddy bears for the children of the Hogar Fun Jesus School (Christmas 08) ● New school desks and ventilators for Escuela Republica de Noruega ● Food, light and rent for the the Hogar Fun Jesus Home ● Musical instruments and book cases for Estancia Grande ● Support of the school for the deaf-blind „Fundacion Fundal" ● Support of individual children In close co-operation with the Association Guate Pro e.V. (www.Guate pro.de) we have supported additional projects for children in the slums of Guatemala, such as providing daily school meals, setting up classrooms and fitting out children's homes. ● Access to a mutual support network including the Bielefelder Bürgerstiftung, Guate Pro e.V., Treffpunkt Gesundheit, Stiftung EBWK, local institutions for children with migration problems, Deutscher Herzstiftung, Stiftung Deutsche Schlaganfallhilfe, Apotheker ohne Grenzen e.V., Doctors, Pharmacists and volunteers from Health Services who support us e.g. by providing lectures free of charge. All donations go in full towards projects because all members of the Foundation are volunteers working unpaid. The members of the Foundation's Board regularly and personally control that all donations are used where they are needed most. Interested? If so, we would be pleased to send you more details and look forward to help poor children and children in need together with you. Many thanks! You can help
