Tracker SPTR V5 and sunphotometer SP1A on an ice floe

Since September 2007 a sunphotometer SP1A and a suntracker SPTR V5 have been away in
the direction of the North Pole. But they won't reach the pole because the devices are on the
Russian drift station North Pole 35 (NP35). Jürgen Graeser, an employee of the
Alfred-Wegener-Institut fuer Polar- und Meeresforschung Bremerhaven/Potsdam works there
together with Russian colleagues. He carries out scientific observations which shall provide
important information for the better understanding of the global climate change. With the return
of the sun the readings which Jürgen Graeser collects with the sunphotometer SP1A also will
join the big data massif which then is at a variety of scientists disposable for the evaluation.
