Nach der unlängst veröffentlichten DVD „Moments
Of Our Lives“ steht nun die brandneue Single
„Dancing In The Light“ in den Startlöchern, eine
minimalistisch und düster gehaltene Hymne, mit
welcher Blutengel musikalisch einmal mehr eine
echte Überraschung gelungen ist.
„Nun, ich versuche eben immer wieder neue Sachen, diese Nummer ist ein Ergebnis meiner Experimentierfreudigkeit“, erklärt Chris. „Gerade, weil
auf dem neuen Album wieder viele bombastische,
orchestrale Nummern sind, wollte ich auch ein
paar andere Akzente haben.“
Die Single erscheint in zwei Versionen mit unterschiedlichem Artwork und je zwei Bonustracks.
Chris: „Es sind komplett neue Songs. Ich habe einfach vier ausgewählt und dabei auf Abwechslung
gesetzt. Ich wollte einen Einblick ins kommende Album präsentieren, und ich denke, das ist gelungen.“
Jüngst haben Blutengel den Clip zu „Dancing In
The Light“ abgedreht, der durch die Involvierung
von Fans etwas Besonderes war. „Oh ja, das war
es wohl“, zeigt sich Chris begeistert. „Es kamen
eine Menge Leute, obwohl wir Montag Vormittag
mit dem Dreh angefangen haben. Ich kam mir
etwas merkwürdig vor, da auf der Bühne zu stehen und Playback zu singen. Für die coolen Effekte
wurde das Playback auch noch doppelt so schnell
abgefahren, was nicht nur
bei mir für große Lacher
gesorgt hat. Die Leute
waren echt cool und haben die benötigte Stimmung gut rübergebracht!“
Gespannt sein darf man
auf Anfang 2009, wo ein
neues
Blutengel-Album
von der Leine gelassen
wird. Chris: „Ich habe 25
Songs am Start. Leider
passen nur 15 auf ein Album. Ich persönlich finde, es hat den Charme
von ‚Seelenschmerz’ und
den Sound von ‚Labyrinth’, aber das wird jeder für sich entscheiden
müssen. Textlich geht es
diesmal, wie auch schon
zuvor, nicht so sehr um
Vampire. Einige Texte
handeln von Verlusten,
der Angst vor dem Tod,
von Frauen, und teilweise auch von Problemen,
die ich mit mir selbst
habe.“
Only shortly after releasing their DVD „Moments Of
Our Lives“, Blutengel are back with a brand new single titled „Dancing In The Light“ - a minimalist and
dark anthem and quite a surprise.
Chris explains: „well, I am constantly trying out
new things and this song is the result of my lust for
experimenting. There will be a lot of pompous and
orchestral tracks on the next album and I wanted to
contrast them with a few other musical directions.“
The single will be released in two different versions,
each one with a different artwork and two bonus
tracks. Chris states: „those are completely new and
unreleased tracks. I just chose four songs from the
ones we had already recorded, keeping an eye on
variety. I wanted to give people a small glimpse of
what to expect from the new album and I think I
succeeded at that.“
Blutengel have also just completed filming the clip
for „Dancing In The Light.“ A lot of fans were involved in the making which made it a really special
happening. „Oh yeah, definitely!“, says an enthusiastic Chris: „a lot of people showed up although we
already started filming on monday morning. It was
a bit strange standing on stage and miming to a
playback for the fans. For the intermediate effects,
they played back the tape at double speed which
had me and the rest of the crew burst out laughing.
The people who filled the
roles of the extras were
really cool and good at
providing the right atmosphere for what we
were trying to capture.“
Fans can also look forward to early next year,
when the new Blutengelalbum is due to hit the
shops. Chris: „I have recorded 25 songs... it‘s too
bad I can only fit 15 onto
the album. Personally,
I think it has the feeling of ‚Seelenschmerz‘
and the sound of ‚Labyrinth.‘ The lyrics are
more personal and not
so much about vampires. They are about
themes like loss, the
fear of death, girls and
problems I am having
with myself.“
