Biography
I was born 1979 in Heidelberg, Germany. After my final secondary-school
examinations I studied cinematography at the Bavarian Academy of
Television in Munich. In 2000 I moved to Berlin and worked as a focus
puller and clapper loader for different filmproductions. I began my studies
of cinematography at the University of Film and Television “Konrad Wolf” in
Potsdam-Babelsberg, Germany and graduated in 2010. Here I realized
several fictional and documentary short and feature films working behind
the camera. My documentary “UXO – unexploded ordnance”, in which I did
the directing and also the camerawork, won the award for best
documentary and the award for the best cinematography at the
Sehsuechte-Festival, Germany 2011. With my graduation feature film
“Jetzt aber Ballett” I was nominated for the “Directors of Photography Award IFFF
Dortmund/Cologne, Germany”. Since the beginning of my studies I have been working as a
cinematographer for different production companies and until today the work behind the
camera is my favourite occupation.
