 NEUES VOM PRÄSIDIUM Liebe Kolleginnen und Kollegen, ich darf mich heute mit einem Newsletter an Sie wenden, der verschiedene Themen behandelt, für weiterführende Lektüre und Informationen möchte ich wie immer auf die einzelnen Beiträge im Newsletter selbst bzw. auch auf die links auf unserer website verweisen. Zum Ersten gibt es eine sehr interessante zeitnahe Fortbildungstagung „Medizin im Museum“ in Wien, eine Initiative der Ärztekammer in Zusammenarbeit mit unserer Gesellschaft. Hier ist es unter der Federführung von Reinhold Kerbl gelungen, für den 14. November (Kunsthistorisches Museum, Wien) ein besonders attraktives Programm zu gestalten. Weiters darf ich auch auf das Seminar der Open Medical Institutes zum Thema Anästhesiologie hinweisen, das in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Children´ s Hospital of Philadelphia erneut in Salzburg stattfinden wird. Nähere Informationen bzw. dazu finden Sie im separaten Newsletter‐Beitrag bzw. unter folgendem Link. Statutengemäß wird bei unserer Jahrestagung auch eine entsprechende Mitgliederversammlung der ÖGKJ abgehalten. Falls Sie keine Gelegenheit gehabt haben sollten, die Versammlung zu besuchen, finden Sie auf unserer website (hier) das entsprechende Protokoll. Die Novelle zum Ärztegesetz bzw. zur Ausbildung beschäftigt uns seit vielen Wochen und Monaten. Für alle, die den letzten Stand der Ärzteausbildung nicht gespeichert haben, hier nochmals die entsprechende Übersicht. Abschließend freue ich mich sehr bekanntgeben zu dürfen, dass der Medizinalrat‐Ausschuss in seiner letzten Sitzung beschlossen hat, unserer Kollegin Dr. Maria Dobner das Silberne Ehrenzeichen der Ärztekammer Wien für Ihre Verdienste in der Flüchtlingsarbeit zu verleihen. Medizinische Gesellschaften, am 14.November ist es die ÖGKJ, bringen wissenschaftliche Neuerungen und wichtige Erkenntnisse aus ihrem Spezialbereichen näher. Bewusst wurde als Rahmen der Veranstaltung das prachtvolle Kunsthistorische Museum gewählt um beide „Künste“ ergänzend miteinander zu erleben. Nach den Veranstaltungen haben Sie die Möglichkeit eine geführte Museumsführung zu erleben. Die Veranstaltung wird ab 8.50 Uhr live im Internet übertragen: www.billrothhaus.at. As far as news around the world, I recently had the opportunity to visit Baku in Azerbaijan, where I attended the XV Congress of Pediatrics of the Turkish World and Eurasian Countries that took place on September 11‐12, 2015. I also had the privilege, as President of the Hellenic Pediatric Society, to welcome my colleagues from Middle Eastern and Mediterranean regions in the 36th Union of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean Pediatric Societies (UMEMPS) Congress that took place on October 1‐3, 2015, in Athens Greece. I must say that both meetings offered a high quality scientific program! The preparations for our IPA 2016 Congress, scheduled to take place in Vancouver‐Canada, on 17‐22 August 2016, are smoothly progressing. A first draft of our preliminary program is expected to be available soon, ensuring speakers’ participation from all around the world.
