Rafting on the River Isar
Isar Log-Rafting Tours
A trip on an authentic lograft is an adventure you
won’t forget! Originally, lografting was a way to
transport bulky goods, but
now it is a fun activity,
popular with both young
and old.
The rafts are built in exactly the same way as a hundred years ago. Today,
however, they are taken apart when they reach Munich and are then
transported back to the small town of Wolfratshausen, towards the source
of the Isar, so that the fun can start all over again the next day.
In Bavaria, log-rafting on the River Isar has a long tradition. The rafters’
knowledge has been passed on from generation to generation, so that
today only a few families who have been raftsmen for centuries have the

Raft trips on the River Isar take place from May to mid September. Book
early to secure your preferred date, as the number of raft trips per year is
limited and sell out quickly.
