AGENDA
The third cabinet meeting of 2014-15 was called to order by District Governor Greg Pryor at 9:04 a.m. M-PDG
Chuck Post, S-John Ziino to fine tail twister Eric for tardy arrival. Motion failed.
DG Greg Pryor introduced guests: Linda Molenda, PID Mark and Jayne Hintzman, CC Sue Doell and Melinda
Nead. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited, with Lion Casey Thornburgh leading in song and Lion Rev. Keith
Johnson giving the blessing.
Linda Molenda addressed the cabinet members and expressed thanks from her and ID Mike for the warm
welcome and hospitality shared over the course of the weekend. CC Sue Doell also addressed the members and
expressed her thanks as well. She also commended the District on its leadership development.
CST S. Eberhardt proceeded with a roll call of members, with a quorum present.
The Minutes of the October 29, 2013 Meeting were presented. M-PDG G. Stewart, S-PDG J. Chadwick to
approve the Minutes as printed. Motion passed unanimously.
The year to date financial report was presented. M-W. Thornburgh, S-E. Thornburgh to approve the report as
printed, subject to audit. Motion passed unanimously.
District Elections - Lion R. Frymark reported on district elections as follows:
District Governor 2014-15 – Dan Eberhardt, Jr.
District Bowling – West Allis

2nd Vice Governor 2014-15 – Gary Posorske
M-PDG D. Hempel, S-J. Ziino to destroy the ballots. Motion passed unanimously.
Correspondence – None to report on.
Committee Reports
Curling – PCC Karla Harris shared Lion Clarence Harris’s report that there were 2 clubs representing A1 at the
State Curling event.
Reading Action – PCC Karla Harris reminded members that reading action projects can be combined with vision
screening. The next Stuff the Bus collection is scheduled to be held on August 9th.
District Pins – PDG Bob Blunck reported sales of 166 convention and 173 district pins. There are 100 convention
and 34 district pins remaining to be sold. He is recommending that the current pin design continue.
Global Leadership Team – PDG Deb Schwanz reported on the Friday workshop that focused on LCI resources
online.
LEO – Lion Chelsea Weirich reported officer elections:

The Leos are looking to try an electronic meeting format due in large part to college progression by members who
want to remain active.
Leader Dog – Lion JP Penn reported that the Leader Dog rep enjoyed his time with Lions, Lioness and Leos in
27-A1. Lion Steve and Leader Dog Bennett appreciated the hospitality.
Honors Banquet – Lion Patty Penn reported the event will be held on May 4th on Michaels on the Lake in
Kansasville. A flyer with details is being circulated.
Long Range Planning – PDG Jordan Chadwick presented guidelines on zone chair positions developed by the
committee. M - PDG J. Chadwick, S – J. Robertson to accept guideline on zone chair positions. Discussion
was held. The motion and second were withdrawn to permit time to review the guidelines. M-PDG G. Stewart to
defer action on the guidelines to the next meeting. The motion failed for lack of a second.
Zone Report – Lion Bill Thornburgh 2/26 place TBA
Geneva during WinterFest.
Genoa City will be doing bingo on 2/6 at The Cove in Lake
Zone Report – Lion Maggi Bain will be 2/26 with Paddock Lake hosting in Legion in Silver Lake.
Diabetes Awareness – Lion Jerry Gibbons shared his thanks for contributions, of which there will be $5,000 to
WLF at the State Convention in May for diabetic camp. March is diabetes awareness month. Materials will be
distributed to members. He is available to speak at clubs.
2nd Vice Governor Candidate – Lion Jerry Gibbons has announced candidacy.
Peace Poster – Lion Casey Thornburgh reported first place peace poster was present at Luncheon. We had 70
others that need were disqualified for size. She will be ordering peace poster kits for the next year.
Tailtwister – Lion Eric Thornburgh reported collections: $231 collected on Friday, $104 collected today with
additional donations made. The skirttwisters were able to collect $316. M- PDG J. Chadwick, S-PDG D.
Schwanz to donate to the diabetes fund. Motion carried.
Honorary – PDG Jake Karpfinger remarked that it is good to see future leadership coming up and asked that
everyone encourage others to step up.
Zone Report – Lion Sal Gasparetti reported combined meeting 2/20 at VFW; 6 social, 7 dinner; hosted by
Muskego.
Zone Report – Lion Cindy Lotzer reported joint meeting will have an eye doctor who will speak of some eye
mission trips to Tahiti. Looking to collect baseball hats, visors.
Sight Conservation – DG Greg advised Lion Dr. Peter Emer is on a sight mission and was able to secure a
$30,000 grant from LCIF. Report will be provided at the next cabinet meeting.
District Bowling 28 clubs participated; Mukwonago won; will be donating raffle proceeds to WLF and donating
25% of profits - $1,430 extra going to Lions Camp. Thanks to all for participating.
Admirals Day – Lion Tal Janowitz reported that WLF Admirals Day is scheduled for February 9th. If wheelchair
facilities are needed then you need to mention it when you order your ticket.
LCIF/Understanding – PDG Rick Steinberg reported on donation status. Donations toward Measle Initiative does
count toward club/district donation. Question posed as to whether $2,000 donation for tornado relief by Genoa
City will count toward donation total.
Editor – Lion Joan Weber reported that there is a deadline at end of week. She needs articles from chairs. The
new program book format for convention was well received.
Zone Report – Lion Dick Hummel reported corn beef & cabbage 3/16; 2/26 zone at Moys.
Zone Report – Lion Gary Posorske reported on fishing and activities.
USA/Canada – Lion Bob Brandemuehl reported that early bird registration is available through May 31st. Hotel
reservations must be done through USA/Canada forum website.
Youth Exchange – Lion John Ziino reported that applications are coming in now. Please encourage families to try
hosting. Please also encourage clubs to consider making a donation.
Lion John Ziino reported that Prospect of New Berlin is hosting a Snowshoe Race on 2/15. Snowshoes are
available for runners. $35 registration and teams are 3 or more.
Eye Bank – Lion Jeff Meyer July 17th golf outing. A report was submitted. There is a Board meeting on 2/23.
Hearing – Lion Jeff Meyer reported that we are at the same rate of applications compared to last year. There is a
44% approval rate for hearing aids, while last year’s approval rate was 47% for the same period.
WLF – PDG Gary Stewart and PDG Dave Hempel reported regarding the vision screening and reception.
Camper applications are online. Diabetes camp applications are done through diabetes association and last year
filled in 9 hours. For the upcoming hockey game there are 300 tickets given to camper families and used
eyeglasses will be collected. They reported 410 hides processed from A1, which is 100 more than last year, and
A2 had 240 hides. WLF is hoping to reach $100,000 through deer hide donations.
ALERT – Lions Gary Payne reported that he and Lion Jackie Ove have been working on a 3 point plan to bring
ALERT to clubs and communities. They will continue to work on finalizing the plan and then present it.
Zone Report – Lion Rev. Keith – reported on 11/14 joint meeting. 3/27 next meeting TBA. He also commented
that the convention Service in Memoriam honored 37 Lions, 2 Lioness and 2 Lionettes who passed away in 2013.
Affiliate Liaison – Lion Dale Cichon reported 19 Lioness clubs are active. They reported skirt twister donations to
Leader Dog puppy raiser and Vision Forward.
BOLD – Lion Bruce Laken reported winter activities are proceeding well. Thanks to clubs for providing volunteers
at events and providing tasty lunches at no cost to the program so that all resources can be focused on the VIPs.
Convention – Report was shared as follows: 375 Lions; 80 Lioness; 8 Leos and 70 guests registered, for a total of
533. 378 lunches were served and 167 dinners at the Celebration of Service event. Lion Gary Posorske asked
that thanks be shared with chair Lion Debbie Condon and co-chair Lion Kathy Frymark and their committee.
Old Business – none.
New Business – CST Sharon provided a preliminary report of the Parade of Checks donations.
Remarks
1st Vice District Governor Dan Eberhardt expressed thanks to all for the work done so far this year. He
commented that it was good to see District Governor Greg healthy.

2 Vice District Governor Mike Drew expressed thanks to all for the support given to him, Lion Debbie and their
family during their recent loss. He is looking forward to working with the Lions as 1 st Vice Governor.
2nd VDG Elect Gary Posorske expressed thanks to the Lions of Cambridge for their support in his leadership bid.
Linda Molenda expressed thanks to the Lions, Lioness and Leos of A1 for a wonderful convention weekend. She
and ID Lion Mike very much enjoyed their time with A1.
PID Mark Hintzmann and Lion Jayne Hintzmann also expressed thanks and remarked that it was “Good to be
home with family.”
District Governor Greg Pryor presented the Minnesota flag to Linda Molenda for ID Mike and remarked that it has
been a pleasure to get to this point. He thanked Rev. Keith for coming to room and offering prayers while he was
ill. He and Kate will go home from the weekend to reenergize and continue forward. He shared that the visiting
District Governors complimented Rev. Keith on the service in memoriam. He reminded us that “Life matters,
make yours count. Through our service we demonstrate that. Thank you for serving, for being on cabinet and
giving of your time and talents.”

Next Meeting will be either March 30, 2014 or April 6 with the location TBA (tentatively Dousman Ottowa).
