in 1976 in Geneva. Three years later they
opened their first restaurant in German
speaking Switzerland, in Basel. In 1993

speaking Ticino. Today there are over 150
McDonald’s restaurants in Switzerland, with
approximately7000 employees, serving around
270,000 guests a day. 79% of the ingredients
of McDonald’s Switzerland are purchased from
Swiss suppliers. McDonald’s are an important
employer and contributor to the Swiss economy.

The Challenge & Objectives
In order to increase the service and enhance
the maintenance of the technical infrastructure,
McDonald’s Switzerland needed a new partner
to take over the maintenance of their Point of
Sale (POS) systems, as well as the support of the
restaurant managers with technical problems.
The Getronics Solution
Getronics are in charge of the installation, support,
maintenance and repair of the POS systems in the
150 McDonald’s restaurants in Switzerland.
In addition, we have expanded the User Help Desk
service to the managers of the restaurants.
