McDonald’s opened their first Swiss restaurant in 1976 in Geneva. Three years later they opened their first restaurant in German speaking Switzerland, in Basel. Today there are over 150 McDonald’s restaurants in Switzerland, with approximately7000 employees, serving around 270,000 guests a day. 79% of the ingredients of McDonald’s Switzerland are purchased from Swiss suppliers. The Getronics Solution Getronics are in charge of the installation, support, maintenance and repair of the POS systems in the 150 McDonald’s restaurants in Switzerland. In addition, we have expanded the User Help Desk service to the managers of the restaurants. CHALLENGE To maintain Point of Sale systems and IT infrastructure, as well as supporting restaurant managers with any technical problems.
