1. Allgemeine Hinweise
In diesem Kapitel finden Sie alle wichtigen allgemein gültigen
Hinweise zu Installation und Betrieb der WAVEline Antennen
von Compu-Shack. Diese Hinweise sind nicht nur für die Funktionsfähigkeit der Geräte wichtig, sondern dienen teilweise auch
Ihrer Sicherheit.
Die Antennen sind für den Betrieb an den WAVEline
Wireless LAN Produkten von Compu-Shack entwickelt.
Nur die mitgelieferten Kabel einsetzen
Die Antennen dürfen ausschließlich mit den mitgelieferten
Kabeln betrieben werden. Die mitgelieferten Kabel dürfen
nur unverändert eingesetzt werden.
HINWEIS: Der Betrieb mit anderen Kabeln verletzt
sowohl die öffentlichen Zulassungsvorschriften als auch
die Compu-Shack-Garantiebedingungen.

Kabel und Stecker schützen
WAVE line
Die Antennenkabel und Verbindungsstecker sind nur für
die belastungsfreie Verlegung geeignet. Für die Verlegung
des Kabels sind folgende Regeln zu beachten:
- Die Kabel dürfen nicht geknickt oder belastet werden
- Die Kabel ohne Zugspannung verlegen
- Entlasten Sie die Stecker, indem Sie das Kabel befestigen
- Ziehen Sie die Kabel nicht an den Steckern durch
- Kabelführungen oder Kabelkanäle
- Schützen Sie bei Aussenmontage die Kabel, indem Sie die
- Stecker mit wasserfestem Dichtungsband umwickeln
Antennen senkrecht montieren
Die Antennen sind vertikal polarisiert und damit nur zur
senkrechten Montage vorgesehen. Bitte beachten Sie die
Montageanleitung im entsprechenden Abschnitt.
Blitzschutz bei Aussenmontage
Für die Installation im Aussenbereich empfiehlt Compu-Shack
die Verwendung des Blitzschutzadapters. Über diesen Adapter
werden Aussenantennen mit der Blitzschutzanlage des Gebäudes verbunden. Überspannungen und Polaritätsunterschiede
können so abgeleitet werden, bevor empfindliche Geräte im
LAN zerstört werden.
HINWEIS: Prüfen Sie vor der Aussenmontage einer Antenne,
ob die Antennen an das Blitzschutzsystem des Gebäudes
angeschlossen werden muss oder nicht.
Der Blitzschutzadapter und der Antennenmast müssen
sicher mit dem Erdungssystem des Gebäudes verbunden sein.
Es ist zu empfehlen, die Installation nur von geschulten
Elektrikern durchführen zu lassen, um geltende Blitzschutzvorschriften zu berücksichtigen.
Hindernisse im Funkbereich vermeiden
Um die maximale Sende- und Empfangsleistung zu erreichen,
sollte die Position der Antenne so gewählt werden, dass sich
im Funkbereich wenig Hindernisse befinden.
Typische Hindernisse, die die Übertragungsqualität beeinträchtigen, sind beispielsweise: Gebäude, Bäume, Überlandleitungen.

Abstrahlcharakteristik der Antennen im Anhang.

Menschen oder Tiere gerichtet werden.

2. Installationsanleitung
Schritt 1: Entfernen Sie die Geräteantenne.
Installation
Schritt 2: Verschrauben Sie das Antennenkabel
mit dem R-SMA Konnektor des Gerätes.

Schritt 3: Installieren Sie den Blitzschutzadapter
– falls notwendig – an der empfohlenen Position
am Ende des Antennen-Pigtail-Kabels.
Schritt 4: Benutzen Sie ein wasserfestes Klebeband, um den
Konnektor vor Umwelteinflüssen zu schützen.

Hinweis: Sollten Sie den Blitzschutzadapter zwischen zwei
Kabeln installieren umwickeln Sie den kompletten Konnektor
mit wasserfestem Klebeband.

Verbinden Sie den Blitzschutzadapter über den Masse-Anschluss
mit dem Blitzschutzsystem des Gebäudes.
Hinweis: Der Blitzschutzadapter muss
direkt an einen Massepunkt angeschlossen werden.

1. General Information
This chapter describes the most important information
regarding the installation and operation of the WAVEline
Omni antenna 8-15. This serves not only for the proper
functioning of the device, but also for your safety.
The antenna were developed for use with
the wireless LAN products of Compu-Shack.
Only use the delivered cables
The antenna must only be operated with the delivered
cables. These cables must nit be altered in any way.
NOTE: The operation of unauthorized cables voids
permission conditions as well as the compu-schack warranty.
Protect the cables and connectors
The antenna cable and connectors are designed for
load-free laying. Please observe the following rules:

The cable must not be kicked or stressed
The cable must be laid without tension
Minimize the load on the plugs by fastening the cable
Do not pull the cable through cable guides or ductings
Protect the exterior mounted connectors by taping them with weatherproof tape
Mount the antenna vertically
The antenna use vertical polarisation and thus are designed
for vertical installation. Please read the special notes regarding
the assembly in the respective assembly instructions.
Use a surge arrestor for external antennas
For external installations Compu-Shack recommends installing
the lightning protection adapter of Compu-Shack.
It can protect your sensitive LAN equipment from high-voltage
surges caused by discharge and transients at the antennas.
This adapters must be connected with the lightning protection
system of the building.
NOTE: Check before exterior mounting of an antenna whether
the antenna can be attached to the lightning protection system
of the building. The antenna mast and the surge arrestor must
be connected to the same ground, using an equipotential bonding conductor. Always check with a qualified electrician if you
are in doubt as to whether your outdoor installation is properly
grounded.
Avoid placing behind obstacles
In order to achieve the maximum transmitting and receiving
power the position of the antenna should be so selected that as
few obstacles are possible come within the radio range.
Typical obstacles that reduce transfer quality are buildings, trees
an power lines for example.

Nevertheless, you should mount the antenna in such manner as
to minimize the potential for human or animal contact during
normal operation.
NOTE: Consider for the correct adjustment of the antennas the
appropriate radiation characteristics, located in the appendix.

2. Installation Guide
Step 1: Remove the default antenna.

Step 2: Connect the extension cable onto
the external connector of the device.

Step 3: Intstall the surge protector as
recommended at the pigtail of the antenna.
Step 4: Use water-proof tape to wrap around both
connectors tightly, as the pictures showed below.

NOTE: When install the surge protector between cables, wrap
the connectors as well. The lightning protection adaptor for
grounding the antenna.

With Surge protector (ANT24-SP) adaptor on an outdoor
serial is attached to the lightning protection System (ground)
of the building.
It will be integrated in the cabling system between the antenna
and the coax-cable and must have direct ground contact.
