PKDW will deduct these premiums from ongoing pension payments. Moreover, under the revised version of § 229 Para. 1 Sentence 3 of the Social Security Statutes Book (SGB) Vol. 5 of 01/01/2004, all lump sum payments for the purposes of retirement, survivor’s or disability pensions are subject to mandatory premiums. For one-off lump sum payments, 1/120 of the total amount will be added to the pensioner’s income that is subject to premiums every month for ten years.
