Pharmacy
In a pharmacy, most medicine is only available by prescription so you will need to give the
pharmacist a doctor’s prescription (“ordonnance”). Pharmacies are usually open from
around 9 am until 7 pm and closed on Sundays.
Doctor
In France, medical treatment is deregulated. You can choose the doctor you wish. The fee
for a visit to a general practitioner is around 23 euros (31 euros for a specialist). Home
calls, night calls, Sundays and public holidays are charged at a higher price. Doctors’
