Do you LOVE to skate? … Sk8SKOOL is for you!
Just 3 hours drive north from Hamburg, in Slagelse, Denmark, is a new development in
European Speedskating.
Sk8SKOOL is an Elite Sports Academy for Speedskaters. The concept is a coaching concept
that allows time for Personal Coaching, gives extra training opportunities, and offers personal
support to athletes who have a burning desire to be fast, strong and technically excellent for
only Speedskating competition.
Sk8SKOOL’s home is at GERLEV SPORTS ACADEMY, ( www.Gerlev.dk ) and international
students are welcome. In fact we often have MANY international students from Germany,
Poland, Czech Republic, Sweden, Norway and of course Denmark. The GERLEV students get
the chance to study many sports (including Basketball, Soccer, Beach Volley, Swimming,
Adventure racing, Street Movement (Parkour/Free running), Fitness, Kayak, Gymnastics and
more… also students take part in theory/study subjects of International Sports Leadership,
Sports Psychology, Personal Development, Photography, Music, Theatre, and more…. In the
evenings and weekends students take part in Sk8SKOOL training, Goal-setting, mental training
and of course Speedskating and Off-skate training and Slideboard! You eat and sleep at Gerlev
Sports Academy for 4 months and take part in fun social activities with the other students also.

Gerlev classes are all in English language from Sept-Dec, and partly in English the rest of the
year. All Sk8SKOOL training can be in English (The head Coach is from England!)
Each skater receives:
Personal Training programs: Speed/Endurance/Strength
Personal Technique Correction (Sildeboard+Off-Skate)
Personal Video Analysis (Sildeboard+Off-Skate)
Personal Off-Skate programs
Personal Mental Training and Goal Setting
Personal development activities/challenges/experiences
Physical Performance testing: (Oxygen uptake testing: bike+skates)
2 - 3 times weekly, high quality training with the group
Facilities include;
Extra-large sports hall (50m x 25m) for speedskating training, with a grippy floor
Fitness room for strength and stabilization training
Movement studio with wall mirrors for “Slideboard” training to improve technique
Gymnastic studio for explosive and jump training
Street-movement park (Parkour/Free-running) for functional training and body conditioning
also Swimming pool, Beach-volley, Frisbee-golf, Football pitches, Sauna etc.
Slagelse Rollerskating Stadium, including 200m parabolic track (Junior Euro Champs 2008)
and 300m asphalt roadtrack
“Hemmeshøj” open road. 7km long flat road with very good asphalt.
(only 5km from the Academy)
“Hechmann-sport” elite athlete test centre. (For VO2max testing and pulse zone determination)

Sk8SKOOLs head coach is Sutton Atkins, he is also a teacher at Gerlev Sports Academy of
sports psychology, swimming, massage, skating and the ‘fitness speciality’ at the Sports
Academy.

o 4th fastest time in World 10,000m Worlds 1996, 5th Overall in World Track Champs, Spain
