SINGLE FILE FROM THE HALT
On the command, "SINGLE FILE FROM THE RIGHT (LEFT),
QUICK – MARCH":
a. the directing flank marches forward in single file in quick time;
and
b. the remainder marks time, leads off, and wheels in single file
following the file on its right (left).
On the command, "FOR-WARD or SQUAD – HALT", the squad acts
as previously taught.
On the command, "ON THE LEFT (RIGHT), RE-FORM LINE,
REMAINDER MARK" – TIME", given as the right foot is forward and
on the ground:
a. the leading file marks time; and
b. the remainder reforms line, and marks time.
On the command, "FOR-WARD or SQUAD – HALT", the squad acts as
previously taught.

SQUAD IN SINGLE FILE RE-FORMING THREES ON THE MARCH
Execute the movement by reforming in threes from a single file while on the march.
Place the squad in the proper formation.
INTRODUCTION
TIME: 1 Minute
WHAT:
During this period of instruction the cadets will learn how to execute squad in single file
reforming threes on the march.
WHY:
This drill movement is necessary to place cadets into a single file so they can move more
manageably as a group.
WHERE:
This drill movement enables a squad/platoon/company of cadets formed up in line into a
manageable single file for entering through narrow doorways or filing into a
classroom/mess hall etc.

On the command “SINGLE FILE FROM THE RIGHT
(LEFT), QUICK - MARCH”, squad will act as following:
a.
the directing flank marches forward in single file in quick
time; and
b.
the remainder marks time, leads off, and wheels in single
file following the file on its right (left).

On the command “FOR-WAR or SQUAD - HALT”, the squad
will act as previously taught.
3.
Practice Complete Movement
Instructor is unable
to demonstrate.
Explain the entire
movement and then
have the cadets
execute it.
Correct faults as
they occur.
