Applicability: DA 42, Diamond Aircraft Industries GmbH (DAI), Austria S/N affected: S/N 42.004 and up 2. Subject: Revision of the DA 42 AFM "One Engine Inoperative Climb/Descent Diagram" 3. Reason: Production aircraft flight tests revealed that single engine climb performance falls short of performance values published in the DA 42 AFM, Doc.No. 7.01.05-E. Twin engine climb performance is not affected by this AD. 4. Actions: Incorporation of DAI TR-MÄM-42-103 into the DA 42 AFM, Doc.No.7.01.05-E, in accordance with DAI MSB-42-005, issue date August 8, 2005. 5. Compliance: Prior next flight 6. Accomplishment: The required actions have to be accomplished and documented either by the manufacturer, or a licensed/qualified person/organisation in accordance with national regulations. 7. Gegenstand: Revision des Einmotorensteigflugleistungsdiagramms im Flughandbuch 3. Anlass: Bei Flugleistungsüberprüfungen von Serienflugzeugen wurde festgestellt, dass die veröffentlichten Einmotorensteigflugleistungen des DA 42-Flughandbuchs, Doc.No. 7.01.05-E, nicht erreicht werden. Die veröffentlichten Steigflugleistungen des Zweimotorenbetriebs sind von dieser Lufttüchtigkeitsanweisung nicht betroffen. 4. Maßnahmen: Einarbeitung der DAI TR-MÄM-42-103 in das DA 42 Flughandbuch, Doc.No. 7.01.05-E, gemäß den Angaben des DAI MSB-42-005, Ausgabedatum 8. August 2005. 5. Termine: Vor dem nächsten Flug 6. Durchführung: Die Maßnahmen sind vom Hersteller oder von berechtigten Personen/Organisationen in Übereinstimmung mit den jeweiligen nationalen luftfahrtbehördlichen Vorschriften durchzuführen und zu dokumentieren. 7. Datum des Inkrafttretens: Sofort nach Erhalt der LTA A-2005-001 R1 und ersetzt LTA A-205-001 vom 16. I.4 Subject Issuance of a Temporary Revision to the AFM to amend the one engine inoperative climb/decent performance data. I.5 Reason There are indications that the airplane fails to reach the one engine inoperative climb/descent data shown in the Airplane Flight Manual. Further investigations are going on. Until results are available, a Temporary Revision to the Airplane Flight Manual is issued in which the one engine inoperative performance values are reduced to a conservative level. Until further notice for safety reasons this reduced data must be used. The normal climb rate (both engines operative) is not affected. I.6 Concurrent Documents None. I.8 Accomplishment/Instructions • • I.9 Incorporate the Temporary Revision TR-MÄM-42-103 into the AFM. Remove pages 5-18 and/or 5-18a (TR-MÄM-42-070) or mark them as superseded. Temporary Revision DA 42 AFM Performance Data TEMPORARY REVISION TR-MÄM-42-103 PERFORMANCE DATA This Temporary Revision TR-MÄM-42-103 is approved in conjunction with the Mandatory Design Change Advisory MÄM 42-103 and is valid in conjunction with the latest revision of the DA 42 Airplane Flight Manual until this Temporary Revision has been incorporated into the Airplane Flight Manual. The limitations and information contained herein either supplement or, in the case of conflict, override those in the Airplane Flight Manual or its previous Temporary Revisions.
