David Cameronhas said too many children from immigrant families are not able to speak
English when they start at school. l'he UK must go further to ensurethose settling learn
English "so they can be more integratedinto our country". Asked about the issue at Prime
Minister's Questions,Mr Cameronsaid the last govemmenthad madeprogresson the issue,
but more had to be done.
He agreedparentsshouldbe responsiblefor making sure children speakEnglish. Conservative MP for Keighley, Kris Hopkins, askedif the PM agreedthat there was "a responsibility
and an obligation" on parentsto make suretheir children can speakEnglish when they start
