Please note : English version below : Osu Shihan, Sensei et Sempai, C’est avec plaisir que notre équipe, Shihan Alain Bordeleau, Sensei Christine Jagucki, Sensei Normand Bordeleau et Sempai Marie-­‐Josée Tremblay, vous invite ainsi que vos élèves, à prendre part à la 3e Coupe de l’Amérique du Nord. Afin de rendre le déroulement de la journée efficace, nous apprécierions que les directeurs des Dojos suivent certaines directives. Nous sommes convaincus qu’en suivant ces directives; la journée de la compétition sera des plus agréable pour les élèves et les directeurs. Nous vous remercions à l’avance de votre collaboration. Renseignements généraux et directives à suivre Shihan, Sensei et entraineurs 1. Date limite des inscriptions le vendredi 27 février 2015 ; 2. Veuillez remplir, imprimer et nous retourner par courrier électronique les documents ci-­‐joints a [email protected] ; 3. Nous apprécierions que les Shihan, Sensei et leurs élèves respectifs arrivent à 8h30 ; 4. Prise de photo de groupe à 9h30 et début de la compétition a 10h00 ; 5. Il nous fait plaisir d’accueillir gratuitement les Shihan, Sensei et entraîneurs des dojos participant au championnat. Nous limitons toutefois le nombre d’entraineurs au ratio de 1 entraineur pour environ 10 participants inscrits, afin de ne pas gêner le travail des arbitres et des bénévoles et de ne pas obstruer la vue des spectateurs se trouvant à l’extérieur de l’aire de compétition. Shihan, Sensei (Inscription) 6. À leur arrivée, les Shihan et les Sensei devront se présenter à la « table d’inscription » dans le hall d’entrée. Un bénévole leur remettra les badges d’identification et les billets d’entrée qu’ils distribueront ensuite aux entraîneurs de leur dojo (selon le ratio de 1 entraîneur pour 10 participants inscrits). Le port de ces badges sera obligatoire pour accéder à l’aire de compétition; gymnase. 7. Pour faire rapidement les dernières vérifications des dossiers des compétiteurs, nous demandons que les karatékas n’entrent pas dans le gymnase à leur arrivée. Nous souhaitons qu’ils attendent l’arrivée de leur Shihan ou de leur Sensei et de leur groupe au complet pour finaliser l’enregistrement des compétiteurs. De cette façon nous pourrons plus rapidement procéder au control de chaque dojo. 8. Les Shihan et les Sensei devront s’acquitter des frais d’inscription de leurs élèves à cette table; ils pourront également s’y enquérir de toute information supplémentaire. Entraineurs 9. Les entraineurs désignés par le Shihan ou le Sensei auront la charge des élèves de leur dojo durant la compétition. Leurs tâches principales seront les suivantes: 10. S’assurer que leurs élèves se rendent promptement à l’endroit désigné par l’annonceur lorsque ce dernier appelle leur catégorie; le numéro de la catégorie sera affiché à un endroit précis. 11. S’assurer que leurs élèves se comportent de façon courtoise et fassent preuve d’un esprit sportif. 12. S’assurer que les parents et amis de leurs élèves demeurent à l’écart de l’aire de compétition. 13. La remise des trophées pour chaque catégorie aura lieu dès que l’épreuve sera terminée. 14. e Le port d’un uniforme de karaté blanc (dogi) est obligatoire lors des épreuves de katas et combats à la 3
Coupe de l’Amérique du Nord du 28 mars 2015. Aucun autre uniforme (dogi) ne sera accepté. Tolérance Zéro. 15. Équipements de combat. Les participants inscrits au championnat doivent fournir leurs équipements de protection conformément aux règlements en vigueur lors du championnat. Les équipements de protection sont obligatoires. 16. Équipements obligatoire pour la compétition Semi-­‐Contacte : protège-­‐pied, protège-­‐tibias, gants, casque, support athlétique (le protecteur buccal est facultatif). Règlements et directives à suivre pour les Combats Semi-­‐Contact 1. Tous les combattants doivent être âgé(e)s de 4 ans et plus. 2. Seulement un entraineur aura accès à l’aire de combat ou de kata durant la journée. 3. Les catégories seront faite selon le nombre de participants, les âges et le niveau de ceinture. 4. Shihan et Sensei veuillez aviser vos élèves et parents des règlements ci dessous (pénalité, wazaari etc.) pour éviter tout conflits la journée de la compétition. Techniques illégales : 1. Coups de pied aux genoux, tels que Gedan Yoko Geri, Kakato Geri et Gedan Mawashi Geri. 2. Coups de coude et coups de tête au visage, à la tête ou au cou. 3. Coups de genou et coups de pied directs au visage. 4. Poing, coude, genou, pied -­‐ aux parties génitales ou au dos. 5. Agrippement. 6. Aucuns b alayages. Avertissements : 1. Le juge de centre peut donner des avertissements officiels aux combattants lorsque le combat est en cours; tel que pour des coups trop forts. 2. Un avertissement officiel, deuxième avertissement = disqualification. Disqualification : 1. Lorsqu’un combattant agit de manière antisportive, le juge de centre peut le disqualifier sur-­‐le-­‐champ. 2. La décision finale de disqualifier un combattant relève du juge de centre. A noter : 1. La technique du Uchi Mata est p ermise. 2. Le mawashi jodan sera permis uniquement s’il est fait avec control (touché). 3. Wazaari : Tout contact avec le pied visible au niveau de la tête, qui a un impact léger et control est considéré comme un wazaari . 4. Tous les coups illégaux ci-­‐haut mentionnés s’ils sont jugés intentionnels amèneront une disqualification e automatique. Si le coup est jugé non-­‐intentionnel il y aura disqualification au 2 avertissement. Règlements, directives à suivre et système d’évaluation pour les catégories de Katas Kata, Kata D’armes & Kata Élite 1. Tous les participants doivent exécuter un kata traditionnel. Un kata traditionnel est un enchainement de techniques de karaté traditionnel qui peut être enseigné et exécuté par l’ensemble des membres d’une organisation; c’est un élément exigé lors de tests de passage de ceinture et non un kata fait sur mesure pour un ou quelques membres de l’organisation. 2. Chaque participant(e) reçoit une note – entre 5 et 10 -­‐ de chaque juge; le total des 5 notes attribuées est utilisé pour établir la position du participant(e) à l’intérieur d e sa catégorie. 3. Les kata traditionnels variant d’un style à un autre, chaque participant(e) est jugé(e) en fonction des critères suivants : • Positions de base • Équilibre et Fluidité • Technique de coups de pied • Technique de coups de poing et shuto • Attitude et Intensité • Vitesse e t Contrôle Niveau de difficulté du kata •
4. Les juges tiennent également compte de la constance dans l’exécution des techniques. Si un(e) participant(e) exécute une même technique à plusieurs reprises dans son kata, et que celle-­‐ci apparaît différente à chaque fois, il/elle sera pénalisé(e). 5. Afin que les juges puissent établir une base d’évaluation, les 3 premiers participants d’une catégorie exécutent leur kata (kata d’armes) en succession, sans recevoir leurs notes d es juges. Chacun d’eux revient ensuite d evant les juges afin de recevoir ses notes. Les autres participants font leur kata et reçoivent leurs notes tout de suite après s’être exécutés. 6. La performance de chaque participant(e) est évaluée par rapport à celle des autres participants de la catégorie. 7. Il est recommandé à chaque participant(e) de se préparer à exécuter deux katas traditionnels distincts : un kata principal et un second kata en cas d’égalité pour une des 3 premières positions. ère
8. e e Dans le cas d’une égalité pour la 1 , 2 ou 3 position d’une catégorie, le juge en chef demande aux participants ex-­‐æquo d’exécuter un autre kata afin d’établir le/la gagnant(e) de la position. Si un(e) participant(e) choisit d’exécuter le même kata, une déduction de ½ point lui sera attribuée par chaque juge. Kata-­‐Élite 1.

Shihan, Sensei and Sempai, It is with great pleasure that our team, Shihan Alain Bordeleau, Sensei Christine Jagucki, Sensei Normand Bordeleau and Sempai M arie-­‐Josée Tremblay are inviting you and your students to participate at the 3rd North American Cup. In order to make this day progress effectively, we would appreciate that the Dojo directors follow certain guidelines. We believe that by following these guidelines; the day will be pleasant for everyone. We thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter. General information and guidelines to follow Sensei and coaches Shihan, 1. Registration deadline is Friday, February 27, 2015; 2. Please complete, print and return by electronic mail the attached documents to [email protected]; 3. We would appreciate that all Shihan, Sensei and their respective students arrive at 8:30 am; 4. A group photo will be taken at 9:30 am and the competition will start at 10:00 am; 5. We are pleased to welcome, free of charge, all Shihan, Sensei and coaches of the dojos that are participating in our championship. However, we do limit the number of coaches to the ratio of 1 coach for about 10 participants registered. Our goal is to prevent any interference with the work of the referees and the volunteers, and also prevent any obstruction of the view of the spectators seated outside of the competition area. Shihan, Sensei (Registration) 6. Upon their arrival, Shihan and the Sensei must go to the "registration table" located at the entrance. A volunteer will give them an identification badge and the admission tickets which they will then distribute to the coaches of their dojo (in accordance with the ratio of 1 coach for 10 registered participants). These badges must be worn to access the area of the competition and of the gymnasium. 7. To quickly finalize each competitor’s file, we ask that the karatekas do not enter the gymnasium upon their arrival. We ask that they wait for the arrival of their Sensei or Shihan and their entire group to finalize the competitor’s registration. With this procedure we hope to quickly and efficiently proceed to control each dojo.

Shihan and Sensei must make their payments and complete the registration of their students at the table; they will also be able to receive any additional information that they need. 3rd NORTH AMERICAN CUP 2015 _____________________________________________________________ Coaches 9. The coaches designated by the Shihan or the Sensei of a specific dojo will have the responsibility of their students during the competition. Their main tasks will be the following: 10. To ensure that their students promptly arrive at the designated announced area of their division; the number of the division will be displayed at a specific location. 11. To ensure that their students behave in a courteous manner and show a sportsmanlike spirit; 12. To ensure that the parents and friends of the karatekas remain outside of the competition area. 13. The trophies for each division will be awarded as soon as each competition is completed. 14. The white karate uniform (dogi) is mandatory throughout the kata and fighting events during the 3rd North American Cup 2015. No other uniform (dogi) will be accepted. Zero tolerance. 15. Combat equipment: The participants registered at the championship must provide their protective gear in accordance with the regulations enforced in the championship. Protective equipment is mandatory. 16. Semi-­‐Contact Gear : foot guards, shin guards, gloves, helmet, athletic support, mouth guard is optional. 3rd NORTH AMERICAN CUP 2015 _____________________________________________________________ Semi-­‐contact combat rules and guidelines 1. 2. 3. 4. All fighters must be 4 years old and over; Only one coach will have access to the combat or kata areas during the day; The categories will be m ade according to the number of participants, ages and belt levels; Shihan, Sensei, Sempai. Please inform your students and parents of the regulations below (penalty, wazaari, etc.) to avoid any conflict the day of the competition. 5. Illegal Techniques 1. Kicks to the knee joint, such as Gedan Yoko Geri, Kakato Geri and Gedan Mawashi Geri. 2. Open hand strikes, punches, elbow strikes and h ead-­‐butt to the face, head or neck. 3. Knee kicks and straight kicks to the face. 4. All strikes – using hand, fist, elbow, knee, foot -­‐ to the groin or back. 5. Grabbing. 6. Sweeping technique. Warnings 1. The center judge may issue official warnings to the fighters while a fight is in progress; i.e. hits that are too strong. 2. An official warning, second warning = disqualification Disqualification 1. If a fighter shows a lack of sportsmanship, the center judge may disqualify him/her immediately. 2. The final decision to disqualify a fighter rests with the center judge. To Be Noted 1. The uchi mata technique is allowed. 2. The mawashi jodan will be permitted only if it is made with a certain control (slight touch). 3. Wazaari: A visible contact with the foot at the head, which has a slight impact and control, is considered a wazaari. 4. If all the above-­‐mentioned illegal moves are considered intentional, these actions will bring an automatic disqualification. Rules, guidelines and evaluation criteria for the katas Katas, Weapon Kata & Elite Kata All participants must execute a traditional kata. A traditional kata is a sequence of traditional karate techniques that can be taught and executed by all the members of an organization; it is an element required during belt examinations and it is not a custom-­‐made kata for one or a few members of an organization. 2. Each participant receives a mark -­‐ between 5 and 10 -­‐ from each judge; the total of the 5 marks is used to establish the position of the participant(s) within its category. 3. The traditional kata varies from one style to another, thus each participant is judged on the following criteria: 1. • Basic positions • Kick techniques • Punch techniques and shutos • Balance and fluidity • Attitude and intensity • Speed and control Difficulty level of the kata 4. The judges shall also take into account the consistency in the execution of techniques. If a participant repeatedly performs a same technique in his/her kata and it appears different each time, he or she will be penalized. 5. So that judges can establish a basis of assessment, the first 3 participants of a category will execute their kata (weapons kata) in succession, without receiving their marks from the judges. Each karateka will then return before the judges to receive their marks. The other participants will execute their katas and immediately receive their marks thereafter. 6. The performance of each participant is evaluated relative to the other participants of the division. 7. It is recommended that each participant prepare two different traditional katas: a main kata and a second kata in case of a tie for one of the first 3 positions. 8. In case of a tie for the 1st, 2nd or 3rd position in a division, the chief judge will ask the two participants who are tied to perform a different kata to establish a winner. If a participant chooses to execute the same kata, a ½ point deduction will be made by each judge. Elite Kata 1.
