program details
Day 1. Arrival in Hanoi.
Arrival in Hanoi where you will be met by your guide at the airport and taken to your hotel for a welcome drink and a light
snack. Free time. Dinner at local restaurant.

Day 2. City Tour.
The whole day is dedicated to discovering Hanoi. Many options are offered:

Classical Tour
This tour starts with the famous Hoan Kiem Lake otherwise known as the lake of the Restored Sword, one of the city’s most
important historical sites and the heart of Hanoi. After this we head off to the temple of literature for a hint of Hanoi’s ancient scholars. Lunch followed by a visit to the Museum of Ethnology before a discovery tour of the old quarter.

Hanoi as you’ve never seen it. Our theme: “Hanoi Today”. Take a stroll to some of the city’ s more unusual locations. Immerse
yourself in contemporary culture through meetings with local inhabitants, facilitate by your guide.
Evening, the famous water puppet show.

Day 3. Hanoi - Halong - Halong Bay cruise.
Cruising amongst the impressive limestone labyrinth of Halong bay; a fairy tale choreography of close to 2.000 islands and
rocks rising up thorough the clear emerald green water. Dinner and night on the boat.

Day 4. Halong - Hanoi. Evening, flight to Hue.
The Cruise continues with a few stops in order to explore caves and swim after a generous buffet breakfast. Disembarking
around twelve for the return trip to Hanoi.
Late afternoon transfer to the airport and flight to Hue.

Day 5. Hue.
Hue, Vietnam ancient imperial capital, it’s also considered as an “architectural poem”. Legacies of both the ancient Champa
Kingdom and years of colonial rule are alive in the city’s art and architecture, including the Forbidden Purple City and the
Imperial Citadel. Tour of the citadel in the early morning before visiting the grave of King Minh Mang (the furthest and most
elaborate). Back to Hue by boat on the Perfume River (meal on board). In the afternoon we’ll dig deeper into the imperial
history with a visit to the grave of Tu Duc and, time permitting, Tu Hieu pagoda!

Day 6. Hue - Hoi An.
Heading south along the old “Mandarin Route” we reach Danang where we stop to visit the museum of Cham Sculpture and
the famous marble mountains otherwise known as the “mountains of the 5 elements”. These hills hide caves that have been
transformed into Hindu sanctuaries abiding today Buddhist and Taoist divinities.
Arrival in Hoi An at noon or afternoon. Tour of Hoi An old town: the old houses, the Japanese Covered bridge, the market
and the port.

Day 7. Hoi An / Daily excursion.

Daily excursion at My Son.
My Son Valley has been from 4th to 13th century the religious centre of Champa Kingdom. My Son is considered to be in the
same league as some of Southeast Asia’s greatest archaeological and religious sites including Angor Wat in Cambodia . In My
Son are gathered lots of brick towers-sanctuaries representing the divine nature of Champa kings.
In the afternoon free time to visit and discover the town.

On Thu Bon River, discovering the traditional village in the surroundings of Hoi An

By bicycle or motorbike we visit the country side of Hoi An. Several stops and opportunities to meet the local people.

Day 8. Hoi An - Danang - Nha Trang.
We head Nha Trang, the city of Doctor Yersin. He spent many years there doing researches and founded the Pasteur Institute. We take a plane in Danang and arrive in Nha Trang at about 3 p.m. We visit Yersin Museum and the oceanographic
museum.

Day 9. Nha Trang.
Relaxing day. Boasting the best weather in Vietnam, Nha Trang’s clear waters and miles of clean, uncrowded beaches invite
swimming, scuba diving and snorkeling, while its lively market and charming streets beg to be explored. You can explore by
boat some of Vietnam’s most beautiful bays. You also have the choice of a bicycle excursion in Nha Trang country side.

Day 10. Nha Trang - Phan Thiet.
We continue all along the coast up to Phan Thiet, the most famous sea spot in Vietnam. Marvellous site. Night at the resort.

Day 11. Phan Thiet.
We spend the whole day in Phan Thiet. Relaxing day: strolling, walking or boat tours. Several fishing villages. Night at the
resort.

Day 12. Phan Thiet - Ho Chi Minh city
Head off Ho Chi Minh city, business capital of Vietnam (still called Saigon by its inhabitants). Arrive for lunch. I
Saigon is not a city that you appreciate for the beauty of its monuments but rather for its unique atmosphere and for the
energy that you breath. The amazing traffic jam created by thousands of mopeds is the best symbol and “picture” of this
metropolis.
We suggest a full immersion in the city, not forgetting of course the most important historical sites: reunification palace ,
the central post office and Notre Dame Cathedral.
Other interesting sites: Chinese area of Cholon and the several pagodas in town .

Day 13. Saigon / Mekong Delta excursion.
Discovery day of Mekong delta. Mekong is the “great south” of the country, exotic, but also an immense rice field, a fine pattern of orchids and canals.
We go to Vinh Long. A Sampan will take us through the canals; we’ll taste fruits and rice alcohol.
In the late afternoon we go back to Saigon.

Day 14. Saigon.
We keep on discovering Saigon. Programme will be set according to flight schedule and where possible allowing for some
free time for last minute shopping. Transfer to the airport.
