POSITION: Mental Health Worker
DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Medical Doctor
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES




I.
Provide utmost support and be part of to the MDM Primary Health Care Clinic Team in providing
Primary Health Care services in the focused IDP (internally Displaced People) campsites.
Provide a major support in enhancing good quality implementation of the PHC package of services,
specifically targeting on mental health support for the IDPs.
Ensure quality mental health care for patients who come to MDM clinic and provide the immediate
mental health counseling and provide information on the existing social support networks that the
IDP patient needs..
If needed, provide Psychological First Aid to some of the focused PHCC workers.
OTHERS:

To maintain good socio-professional relationships with national and international partners.

To attend trainings when required by MdM

To attend team meetings and to give qualitative input.

Be flexible in performing his/her duties to ensure that beneficiaries are getting good quality services.

Perform other additional duties on request of the medical doctor and medical coordinator.
II.
Minimum Level of Competency:


A Registered Psychologist
At least 2 years of mental health program experience, working at a primary health care level on
mental health

With expertise and experience in doing Psychological First Aid (PFA).
Speaking English
Have a good modulation of voice and confidence in communicating in public.
Work as team player and has flexibility in his/her work
He/she can work independently and innovatively to develop and implement supervision and training
activities that help expand community participation
Experience working in humanitarian emergency settings is an asset





