CASP – Aims
Aimed at enhancing the aviation
security capabilities of the Programme’s
participating Member States to enable

Recommended Practices and guidance

Programme aims
In the longer-term creating a regional
structure for cooperation and
coordination in aviation security matters
and for training of aviation security
personnel.

CASP in Africa
CASP Project proposals have been
prepared for the Banjul Accord group
and for the SADC States.
ž none of the projects has commenced
due to funding and other constraints
ž
Suggested Measures
African States should take advantage
of the benefits to be derived from
adopting a cooperative approach to
resolving deficiencies and meeting their
aviation security obligations.

Suggested Measures
States which decide to start a CASP
project to do so with a limited number
of activities and subsequently increase
the scope of the project as resources
allow.
