Calculator
The BCV e-code reader works as a calculator if no card is inserted. If
a card is inserted, you can access the calculator function by pressing
the MENU key.

The new BCV-net identification system consists
of a personal BCV e-code card and a card
reader, giving you optimum security for your
online banking transactions.

N.B.
Before you use the e-code reader for the first time, you must remove the plastic
cover protecting the batteries. Instructions for replacing batteries are provided
in the enclosed user guide.
The security information is stored on your personal BCV e-code card. The BCV
e-code reader is not linked to any one BCV e-code card and may be used by
more than one person.

Security benefits :
• Your personal data are protected on your
BCV e-code card and cannot be copied.
• Access codes are generated randomly and
are only valid for one use.
When you use BCV-net for the first time with your new
BCV e-code, you will be asked to change your PIN.
Changing your PIN :
1. Insert the card into the BCV e-code reader and press
the ON key. ENTER PIN will appear on the screen.
2. Enter the PIN that you received separately and confirm
by pressing OK.
3. Select a new PIN (6-8 digits long) and enter it. The PIN
must not be an obvious number, such as a telephone
number or a date of birth.
4. Confirm by pressing OK.
5. Enter your new PIN again and confirm by pressing OK.
6. Your new PIN is now active.
To change your PIN at any other time :
1. Insert the card into the BCV e-code reader and press
the ON key. Then press the MENU key.
2. Select CHANGE PIN using the down-arrow key and
confirm by pressing OK.
3. Enter your PIN and confirm by pressing OK.
4. Refer to points 3 through 6 above to complete this
operation.
If you forget your PIN, the BCV e-code card must be
replaced.
Accessing BCV-net :
1.Go to www.bcv.ch/bcvnet.
2.Enter your full user number (letters and figures).
3.An 8-digit CHALLENGE number will appear under your user
number.
4.Insert your BCV e-code card in the reader, press the ON button
and press the CODE button.
5.Enter the CHALLENGE number into the card reader and confirm
by pressing OK.
6.ENTER PIN will appear on the card reader’s screen. Enter your PIN.
If you make a mistake, you can delete the last number by pressing the
“C” key. When you have entered your PIN correctly, press OK.
7.Enter the code generated by the BCV e-code reader in the CODE
field on the login page. Click on CONFIRM. Your personal BCV-net
page will then open.
N.B. : There is a time limit for some of these operations. If you are
timed out, the information displayed by the card reader will disappear
and you must begin the procedure again from the start. The system’s
security is not compromised by time-outs.
