La Campagne Mondial pour
les Microbicides
La Campagne Mondiale pour les Microbicides est un vaste effort international visant à créer un réseau
de soutien parmi les décideurs, les meneurs d’opinions et le public en faveur d’investissements financiers
accrus dans la recherche sur les microbicides et autres méthodes de prévention contrôlables par
l’utilisateur. Par un travail de plaidoyer, d’analyse de politiques et de recherches en sciences sociales, la
Campagne s’efforce d’accélérer le développement de produits, à en faciliter l’accès et l’usage et à
protéger les besoins et les intérêts des utilisateurs, particulièrement ceux des femmes.
Specifically, the goals of the Campaign are to:
Une plus forte sensibilisation et une mobilisation politique en faveur de plus d'investissements
dans la recherche sur les microbicides, le préservatif féminin et les méthodes de barrières
cervicales ;
La création d'un environnement politique favorable à un développement, une introduction et un
usage de nouvelles méthodes de prévention qui soient opportuns ; et
La garantie, à mesure des progrès de la recherche, de la protection de l'intérêt public, ainsi que de
la représentation et du respect total des droits et des intérêts des participants aux essais cliniques,
des usagers et des communautés.
La Campagne Mondiale opère avec une petite équipe d’employés et finance des organisations partenaires,
afin que celles-ci puissent directement faire avancer les objectifs de la Campagne. Le Secrétariat de la
Campagne est basé au sein de l’organisation « Program for Appropriate Technology and Health »
(PATH), une organisation internationale spécialisée dans la santé des femmes et des enfants.
