At almost 85 years old, Château Musar has once again
returned to our report. Steeped in tradition and history, Château Musar narrowly misses out on a place in
the top 25. With 6,000 years of winemaking tradition
it is only right that a Lebanese wine should appear in
the top 30. Son of founder Gaston Hochar, Serge was
the first ever recipient of Decanter’s Man of the Year
in 1984 for his dedication to producing quality wine
throughout Lebanon’s Civil War. An 18th century castle, Château Musar is far from archaic in its outlook,
forging on and broadening distribution to the likes of
Vietnam and Romania in 2013.
