108 ème BANQUET ANNUEL
Invités de la table d’honneur / Head table guests
Le 108ème banquet annuel du Club du rail canadien a eu
lieu le vendredi 5 février à l’hôtel Bonaventure à Montréal.
Terry O’Brien, Président du Club, a accueilli les invités.
Marco Bocchicchio a chanté l’hymne national du Canada
et celui des États-Unis. Après l’introduction des invités de
la table d’honneur, M. O’Brien a ensuite invité Paul Côté
de l’AMT et Nicolas Théberge de Hatch Mott MacDonald
de proposer un toast au nom de leurs secteurs respectifs.
Après les toasts, les invitées ont apprécié un repas quatre
services ainsi que l’animation musicale de l’ensemble Paul
Chacra. L’événement comprenait le divertissement sur le
thème des ‘légendes’; une soirée mettant en vedette les
succès des Blues Brothers, Shania Twain et Tina Turner.
Terry O’Brien a clos la soirée souhaitant à tous les invités
une année sûre et productive.

Following the toasts, attendees enjoyed a four course meal.
The sold-out event featured tribute performances by Shania
Twain, Tina Turner and the Blues Brothers. Throughout
the evening the Paul Chacra ensemble entertained the
dinner guests. On a final note, Terry O’Brien, wished all
guests a safe and productive year.
108 th ANNUAL DINNER
The Railway Club’s 108th annual dinner was held on
Friday, February 5th at the Bonaventure Hotel in Montreal.
Terry O’Brien Club President, welcomed the guests. The
American and Canadian anthems were then performed by
Marco Bocchicchio. Following the anthems, the head-table
guests were introduced. Mr. O’Brien invited Paul Côté of

DÉJEUNER-CAUSERIE
Notre déjeuner-causerie tenue le 10 décembre, 2015 à l’hôtel
Centre Sheraton, était encore une fois une réussite. Agissant
au nom de Terry O’Brien, président du club, le viceprésident, Stéphane Lapierre a accueilli les membres et les
invités. Après le repas, notre conférencier invité, M. Sameh
Fahmy, Directeur Exécutif, consultation discipline ferroviaire,
GE Transportation, adressa les participants. M. Fahmy a
présenté des statistiques sur le trafic brut par chemin de fer,
les incidents notables, les causes typiques de déraillements, de
nouvelles réglementations et leur impact sur les chemins de
fer, les méthodes d’inspection actuelles et de leur insuffisance.
M. Fahmy a discuté la nouvelle vision GE - appelée Self
Aware Train (SAT) - qui tente de compléter et adresser des
lacunes d’inspection en capitalisant sur les nouvelles capacités
industrielles d’Internet.
Peu avant le déjeuner, Serge Besso, ancien président du Club, a
présenté le président sortant, Dino Trubiano, avec sa broche de
service en reconnaissance de ses contributions au Club pendant
son temps en tant que Directeur du Club.
DECEMBER LUNCHEON
Our luncheon held on December 10th, 2015 at the Sheraton
Centre Hotel, was once again very successful. Stéphane
Lapierre, Club Vice President, acting on behalf of Terry
O’Brien, Club President, welcomed members and guests.
Following the meal service, our guest speaker, Mr.
Sameh Fahmy, Executive, Rail Consulting Practice, GE
Transportation, addressed the attendees. Mr. Fahmy presented
statistics on crude traffic by rail, notable incidents, typical
causes of derailments, new regulations and their impact on
railroads, current inspection methods and their shortfall. Mr.
Fahmy discussed the new GE vision – called Self Aware Train
(SAT) – that attempts to complement and address inspections
gaps by capitalizing on new industrial internet capabilities.
Shortly before the luncheon, Past Club President, Serge Besso,
presented Immediate Past President, Dino Trubiano with his
service pin in recognition of his contributions made to the
Club during his time as a Director of the Club.

ROCHE LTD IS NOW NORDA STELO
Consulting engineering firm Roche Ltd, Consulting Group has changed its
name to Norda Stelo Inc. The change represents the culmination of the extensive
transformation the firm has undergone over the last several years.
An independent firm, Norda Stelo was founded in 1963 and is now one of the
largest construction engineering firms in Canada. Specializing in integrated
projects, Norda Stelo employs over 1,300 people at some 40 offices and has
operations in nearly 50 countries.

La firme de génie-conseil Roche ltée, Groupe-conseil devient Norda Stelo Inc.
Le changement représente l’aboutissement d’une transformation en profondeur
opérée dans l’entreprise au cours des dernières années.
Norda Stelo est une entreprise indépendante fondée en 1963. Elle fait partie des
principales firmes d’ingénierie-construction au Canada et se spécialise dans la
réalisation de projets intégrés. Norda Stelo compte plus de 1 300 employés et une
