Two decades after the events of December 1989, the wounds left in
the Eastern European memory by a history disrupted by totalitarian
communist regimes continue to inspire the film productions. The
powerful work of contemporary Eastern European film directors from
the new wave and the masters of the Romanian Cinematography also
probes the legacy of the recent past while also critically examining
present realities.

Every Sunday, filmmaking workshops introduce families to animation
through techniques such as drawing on film, paper cut-outs and clay
animation. They also teach participants how to create a soundtrack
and use a camera.

A fascinating story with extraordinary inside access, Prosecutor follows the
Chief Prosecutor through the first trials of the newly formed International
Criminal Court. Luis Moreno-Ocampo investigates and prosecutes some of
the world’s worst criminals for some of the world’s worst crimes.
The screening will be followed by a discussion presented in
collaboration with the Canadian Centre for International Justice.
