ABOUT THE PARTNER
La Paz Municipality (www.lapaz.bo) is the capital municipality (sección municipal capital) and
one of the five municipalities of the Pedro Domingo Murillo province in the La Paz department in
Bolivia. Cuso International began its relationship with the local municipality in 2008 in order to
support as a joint initiative the center for youth and employment.
THE VOLUNTEER’S ROLE
Overall placement purpose and specific volunteer placement objectives:
Enhance the strategy of employability as part of the Center of Youth and Employment in order
to get greater impact of the CJE service. Support in the implementation of a gender project
within the Center for youth and employment in La Paz, Bolivia
Specific Objectives:
 Support the center for youth and employment of La Paz in order to understand the
employability / underemployment situation in La Paz
 Gather and systematize live stories on employment inclusion or underemployment
 Support the improvement of the employment training material and guides.

Make recommendations about the current employment service at the centers in order to
improve all CJE’s in Bolivia employment services
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Essential requirements
 Degree in Social Science or related field
 Minimum two years of work experience in the field of social and youth project
implementation
 Experience working with youth projects and NGOs
 Experience developing social development projects
 Knowledge about employment and labor issues
 Studies in gender and development and knowledge of Latin American issues desirable
TRAINING AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT
Our training and support package covers the costs of being an overseas volunteer, allowing you to
enjoy a modest but healthy lifestyle while you volunteer abroad. This includes:
 Attendance at a Cuso International assessment day (candidates must cover the first
$150 of the most cost-effective travel expenses and accommodation costs)
 Travel and accommodation costs associated with pre-departure training
 Return airfare and visa/permit (this includes a return flight in the case of a family





emergency)
Coverage for required vaccinations, medications and comprehensive health insurance
Accommodation while overseas
A modest living allowance, which varies depending on the country where you are placed
Quarterly payments to support you in your placement
Modest support for accompanying partners

PARTENAIRE
La municipalité de La Paz (www.lapaz.bo) est à la fois la capitale administrative de la Bolivie, la
capitale du département de La Paz et l'une des cinq municipalités de la province de Pedro
Domingo Murillo. Cuso International collabore avec la municipalité depuis 2008 afin de mettre
en place un centre jeunesse emploi (CJE).
ROLE DU COOPERANT VOLONTAIRE
Objectif général de l’affectation
Le titulaire du poste devra améliorer la stratégie du CJE en matière d'employabilité afin
d'accroître l'impact de ses services. Il devra également contribuer à la mise en œuvre d'un
projet pour les femmes dans le cadre du CJE de La Paz, en Bolivie.
Objectifs particuliers
 Aider le CJE de La Paz à mieux comprendre et appréhender la situation des jeunes de
La Paz en matière d'employabilité et de sous-emploi.
 Recueillir et colliger des récits de vie sur l'inclusion sur le marché du travail ou le sousemploi.
 Contribuer à l'amélioration des guides et du matériel de formation à l'emploi.

Émettre des recommandations concernant les services actuellement offerts dans les
centres afin d'améliorer l'ensemble des services à l'emploi des CJE boliviens.
COMPÉTENCES ET QUALIFICATIONS
Essentielles
 Diplôme en sciences sociales ou dans un domaine connexe.
 Au moins deux ans d'expérience en mise en œuvre de projets sociaux ou de projets
jeunesse.
 Expérience de travail dans des ONG et des projets jeunesse.
 Expérience en élaboration de projets de développement social.
 Connaissance des enjeux liés à l'emploi et au marché du travail.
 Formation en genre et développement et connaissance des enjeux latino-américains, un
atout.
FORMATION ET SOUTIEN FINANCIER
Le soutien financier que nous offrons couvrira le coût de votre affection à l'étranger et vous permettra
d'avoir
un mode de vie à la fois sain et modeste :
 Participation à la journée d'évaluation de Cuso international (les candidats doivent payer
les premiers 150 $ des frais de transport et d'hébergement les plus économiques);
 Frais de déplacement et d'hébergement associés à la formation prédépart de cinq jours à






Ottawa;
Billet d'avion aller-retour, visa et permis de séjour (dont un billet de retour en cas
d’urgence familiale);
Frais de vaccination, médicaments et assurance maladie complète;
Hébergement sur le terrain;
Allocation de subsistance modeste, qui variera selon le pays d’affectation;
Allocation trimestrielle durant votre affectation;
Support modeste pour les personnes accompagnatrices;
