Comments and suggestions Only negative comment is that the course has been delayed by people with less skills than others, which means that we lost time on subjects which delayed the overal training and finally we lacked of time. The trainer may have better focused the training course and delay answers. I believe this is due to a bit of lack of experience on this course from the trainer. qui n'est pas lie a Linux aujourd'hui. the first 2 hours to explain the diffe Ce n'est pas lie a la formation, mais a mon travail IMPORTANT: I would suggest to introduce the course by a general overview of what will be trained, took ... Comments and expectations Je regrette que l'instructeur n'est pas ete Thomas. Number of daily responses 7 of 7 02/17/2014 09:42 AM Comments and explanations For this particular session, we managed to complete most of the lectures, but several practical labs couldn't be finished. This happened because 3 participants didn't master all the technical prerequisites, in particular C programming. This caused the instructor to spend much more time than expected supporting the participants, and slowed down the progress of the class as a whole. Here are the actions that we are taking to reduce the likelihood of such problems in future sessions: • Put a stronger emphasis on the technical prerequisites in the course agenda and in the participant confirmation documents. • When the majority of the class is done with a given practical lab, move on to the next lab, and let the remaining participants continue their labs later (during normal lab time, after course hours). This way, everyone is kept busy learning and practicing all the time. • Make sure that this advise is well documented so that all Free Electrons trainers organize their classes in this way. Some of us already do this, but this wasn't a common practice yet. Another complaint was that another trainer was expected by a few of the first people who registered. This was a communication issue, which we addressed before the session by clarifying who the trainer is expected to be. In this case like in any case anyway, the trainer had much more than enough knowledge and experience to teach the course (he is one of the official kernel maintainers, responsible for support for all SoCs from Allwinner). The problem that happened was mainly some lack of experience managing a class with very heterogeneous levels of skills. Remember that our trainers are engineers first, spending most of their time in real-life projects, and just spending a few weeks per year sharing their experience through training sessions.
