The organizers of the 2015 Pan Am
Games Torch Relay have graciously
offered 50 spots from across the country
to Legionnaires to participate in this
national event. The torch relay starts
May 30, 2015, and concludes July 10,
2015.
Overall three thousand torchbearers will
proudly carry the flame and share its
welcoming Pan Am spirit on its 41-day
journey towards the lighting of the
cauldron in Toronto, the host city, on
July 10, 2015, to officially open the
Games.

Les organisateurs du Relais de la flamme des
Jeux panaméricains (Pan Am) 2015 ont
gracieusement offert 50 places aux membres
de la Légion pour prendre part à cet
évènement. Le Relais de la flamme se
déroulera du 30 mai au 10 juillet 2015.
En tout, trois mille porteurs (porteuses) de
flambeau hausseront fièrement la flamme et
communiqueront
son
esprit
d’accueil
panaméricain tout au long de son trajet de
41 jours jusqu’à l’allumage de la vasque à
Toronto, la ville-hôte, le 10 juillet 2015 lors de
l’ouverture officielle des Jeux.
The Legion is now actively putting a call
out for volunteers to fill these vacancies
in the communities listed on the
enclosure.
The Legion selected
participants must meet the following
criteria in both the General and Legion
Specific categories listed below:

Be able to run/wheel your assigned
200 metre segment on your
assigned day.
Be a Canadian citizen or legal
resident of Canada.
Be prepared and able to participate



unaccompanied (except if you have
special
needs
and
require
assistance) in the two- to three-hour
torchbearer experience, between
7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Be willing to travel at your own
expense to the assigned community
meeting point and then from the
finish point of the relay segment.
Wear the provided torchbearer
uniform (without any other branded
clothing) for the duration of your
torchbearer experience.
Be available to participate in the
torch relay on the assigned relay
segment which is non-transferable
and the date cannot be changed.
Consent
to
undertake
and
successfully complete a security
background check.
Sign the release and waiver of
liability form (enclosed) and submit
with your application.
Provide a valid email address and
phone number in order to facilitate
the selection process and prepare
for the torch relay experience.
Agree to have your profile and image
published or released by TO2015,
sponsors or media for the purposes
of publicizing the TORONTO 2015
Torch Relay.
Cannot be an elected official or
candidate running for public or
political office.
Cannot be an employee or
contractor of TO2015.









Legion Specific
If a veteran:



Indicate your rank and branch of
service.
Identify the community location
that they wish to participate in.
Provide a short biography of your
accompagnement (à l’exception de

deux à trois heures, entre 7 h et 19 h.
Accepter de se déplacer à ses propres
frais vers le point de rencontre de la

flambeau fourni (sans aucun vêtement
identifiable à une marque) pour la durée de
l’expérience de porteur (porteuse) du
flambeau.
Être disponible pour prendre part au Relais
de la flamme durant le segment désigné,
qui est non transférable et dont la date ne
peut pas être changée.
Consentir à se soumettre à une vérification
des antécédents dont le résultat sera
adéquat.
Signer la déclaration de non-responsabilité
(ci-jointe) et la joindre à votre formulaire de
candidature.
Fournir une adresse de courriel et un
numéro de téléphone valides afin de
faciliter le processus de sélection et de
préparer l’expérience du Relais de la
flamme.

commanditaires ou les médias aux fins de
