TO ATTACH PANEL TO WALL
IMPORTANT: The Star Panel weighs 8kg and the Cloud Panel weighs 14kg.
Please take this into consideration when fixing. Please make sure that you are aware of
the construction of the wall the panel is to be fixed to. Taking this into account please
ensure that you use the correct fittings.
OPERATION
1.
Plug in. There is no ON/OFF switch.
2.
The objective is to strike one of the push buttons A when it is illuminated. This
produces a visual reward (the lights in the push buttons flash) and an audible
reward. Different panels have different audible rewards. The Star Panel has
fanfares. The Cloud Panel has weather sounds. Each panel has four different
sounds. Each sound lasts approximately 9 seconds. The Star (shown above in
red, although now available in green instead) plays four fanfares. The Cloud
Panel has bird, seaside, wind and rain sounds. Whilst the lights are flashing and
the sound is playing, the buttons will not respond if pressed. Only when the lights
have stopped flashing and the sound has stopped will the push buttons A
respond to being pressed.

There are four controls on the front of these panels:
Volume D
Pattern (clockwise, anti-clockwise, pendulum, random) B
Speed Up C yellow button
Speed Down C blue button

Use these controls to adjust the illumination and sound level of the panel to suit your
preferences. Do not block the speaker E (round black grille) or the sound level will be
reduced and distorted.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
The transformer (labelled 240V (110V US)), and lamps are accessed via the rear of this
panel. Always disconnect from the mains before opening up the panel. Take the panel
off the wall. Lay this panel down on a soft surface so as not to scratch the unit. Undo
the screws at the back of the panel (e.g. there are 8 screws on each edge of the octagon
back of the Star Panel shown below).
Take the back off. Afterwards replace the back, making sure the cable sits in its groove
and it is not trapped by the back. Secure the screws.
TO CHANGE THE BULBS
1.
Establish which bulb has failed. It may be useful to mark it with a piece of sticky
tape which can be removed afterwards. Take a firm hold of the white part of the
bulb holder.

Pull bulb holder upwards.

Remove the bulb.

Replace with a bulb of the same specification. Bulbs are E/T 24V, 2W.
Press the white bulb holder back into position in the circular black base till you
hear it click back into place.

Replace the back of the panel as above.

These panels can be used with ROMPA®’s Switching Systems - the Infra Red Controller
15890 and Infra Red Switches 15892 - 15901 OR the Telemetry Controller 17824 and
Telemetry Switches 17842 – 17851 (shown above).
Plug the Catch the Light Panel into the white socket on the top of your Controller. Either
set the Controller to the channel indicated on the underside of your switch for remote
Infra Red/Telemetry control (e.g. Channel 5 for the Tip Switches 15895/17845) OR
connect the curly cable to your switch and then to the left hand side of the Controller.
Activate your switch to illuminate the lights. Whilst the switch is activated the lights
continue to light up in sequence. Release the switch and the lights stop. Activating the
switch will not activate the sounds from the panels. However, if one user activates the
switch and another ‘catches’ the illuminated lights, the users can work together as a
team to ‘catch’ the light.
USE WITH THE ROMPA® CUSHION SURROUND 17841
Note: the cushion surround is different for each Catch the Light panel and so the
surround is not interchangeable amongst the panels.
When attaching the panel to the wall take into account the following:
• The weight of the cushion surround – approximately 6kg
• The cable – pass this through before attaching the cushion to the wall
• The Velcro fastening – this should be to the bottom of the panel

Panneau avec prise attaché
POUR ATTACHER LE PANNEAU AU MUR
IMPORTANT: L’Etoile pèse 8 kilos. Le Nuage pèse 14 kilos.
Tenez compte de ces poids en installant vos panneaux. Considérez la construction de
votre mur, et achetez des installations qui conviennent.
FONCTIONNEMENT
1.
Branchez. Il n’y a pas de bouton pour allumer/éteindre.
2.
Touchez un des boutons A au moment où il s’allume pour faire clignoter les
lumières dans les boutons et pour écouter des sons! Chaque panneau a des
sons différents. L’Etoile a des fanfares ; le Nuage a des sons du temps. Chaque
panneau a quatre sons différents. Chaque son dure approximativement 9
seconds. L’Etoile (dans l’image plus haute – ce panneau est vert maintenant) a
quatre fanfares chacun. Le Nuage a des sons d’un oiseau, du bord de la mer, du
vent et de la pluie. Quand les lumières clignotent et les sons s’activent, les
boutons A ne répondent pas au toucher. Attendez la fin du son et du
clignotement.

Il y a quatre réglages au devant des panneaux :
Volume D
Direction B (dans le sens des aiguilles d’une montre, dans le sens inverse,
pendule, au hasard)
Plus vite C le bouton jaune
Moins vite C le bouton bleu
Servez-vous de ces réglages pour ajuster le panneau aux besoins et aux exigences de
l’usager. Ne pas bloquer la grille du haut-parleur E – sinon on risque d’altérer le son.

SOIN ET ENTRETIEN
Pour accéder au transformateur (avec l’étiquette 240V (110V US)) et aux lampes,
détacher l’arrière du panneau. Débranchez le panneau avant de détacher l’arrière.
Enlevez le panneau du mur. Mettez le devant du panneau sur une surface douce pour
le protéger. Desserrez les vis a l’arrière du panneau (ex. il y en a 8 à l’arrière octogonal
du panneau Etoile – voir l’image au-dessous).
Enlevez l’arrière. Apres avoir changé l’ampoule, remplacez l’arrière, en positionnant le
câble dans la fente. Serrez les vis.
POUR CHANGER LES AMPOULES
1.
Etablissez l’ampoule usée. On peut le marquer avec un peu du Scotch. Tenez
fermement le support blanc de l’ampoule.
2.
Tirez le support blanc.
3.
Enlevez l’ampoule.

Remplacez l’ampoule avec une neuve ampoule de même caractéristiques
techniques - E/T 24V, 2W.
Poussez le support blanc en position dans l’embase noir et circulaire – on
entendra un ‘déclic’.
Remplacez l’arrière du panneau (voir plus haut).
USAGE DES PANNEAUX AVEC LES APPAREILS DE CONTROLE DE ROMPA®
On peut se servir de ces panneaux avec les Contrôleurs et les Contacteurs de ROMPA®
- le Contrôleur Infrarouge 15890 et les Contacteurs Infrarouges 15892 - 15901 OU le
Contrôleur Télémétrique 17824 et les Contacteurs Télémétriques 17842 – 17851 (voir
l’image au-dessus).
Branchez le panneau dans le devant du Contrôleur. Ou réglez le Contrôleur à la chaîne
de votre contacteur pour la commande à distance (ex. chaîne 5 pour les contacteurs à
renverser 15895/17845) OU connectez le câble bouclé à votre contacteur et à la prise
jack du Contrôleur.
Activez votre contacteur pour faire allumer les lumières. Quand le contacteur est activé
les lumières changent en suite. Relâchez le contacteur pour faire cesser la suite des
lumières. En activant le contacteur, on ne peut pas activer le son. Si un usager active

le contacteur, un autre usager pourrait ‘prendre la lumière’.
USAGE DES PANNEAUX AVEC LES COUSSINS MURAUX 17841
Notez: la forme du coussin mural dépend le panneau qui se mettra dans le coussin. On
ne peut pas se servir du même coussin pour tous ces panneaux.
Avant d’attacher le panneau au mur, pensez aux points suivants :
• Le poids du coussin – approximativement 6 kilos
• Le câble – passez le câble à travers le coussin avant de l’attacher au mur
• La fermeture en Velcro – elle se trouve en bas du panneau
