Domaine du Chalet Pouilly is a small grower, but small can be beautiful. Since 1850, when the
Plumets planted their first vine, the family wine business and viticultural expertise has been
passed down from generation to generation. Today overseen by parents Marie-Agnes &
Dr. Bernard Leger-Plumet, sisters Marie- Eve and Fabienne are in charge.
The 21 acres property is located on a sun-soaked hillside overlooking the small hamlet of
Pouilly in the heart of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation. The average age of the Pouilly Fuissé
vines is 40 years old. This is a dry 100% Chardonnay aged for 20 months.
"Tasted from barrel, the 2013 Pouilly Fuissé will offer great detail on the nose with tangible
flint/limestone scents later joined by subtle estuarine notes. The palate is clean
90-92 pts and fresh with plenty of fresh lime and orange zest, real vibrancy here and
animation towards the finish. Another barrel had even more brightness and
intensity, which bodes well for the future. I look forward to tasting this in bottle."
