VOCATIONAL TRAINING
TO LEARN A NEW TRADE
We have a long and distinguished tradition of educating
students from different nationalities. In collaboration with
Université du Maine, we give international students the
opportunity to learn new trades and to graduate with a Higher
Education Diploma.
International students (18 and over) can apply to full time
courses in Piano Tuning, Guitar Making and Repair, Wind
Instrument Making and Sound Engineering. They run from
September to May and include technical training, professional
cultural classes, work placements, career guidance and
student support.
25% OF LIVE SOUND RECORDING ENGINEER CLASSES ARE
TAUGHT IN ENGLISH.
FRENCH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
The courses include professional jargon and specific
vocabulary (music history, acoustics…) so a minimum level
understanding is essential.
Applicants with an A2 or B1-level of French must take presessional courses, in their own country or at Université du Maine,
before beginning of term. They last between two to nine
months. Applicants with a B2-level or higher are exempted.
TO KEEP LEARNING
We guide professionals throughout their careers by providing
lifelong learning.
We offers short courses tailor-made to instrument making and
repair professionals, sound engineers, music teachers, music
school directors and music retail employees (two to five days
long).
We organise short and adjustable professional trainings, on
campus and abroad.
LEARNING RESOURCE CENTRE
We are in charge of the conservation of the instrument
craftsmanship industry knowledge. We keep a wide range of
documents and databases accessible online. The learning
resource centre is opened to the public on weekdays.
