FINA approved Swimming Qualifying Event for Rio 2016
Regulations for Participants of International Federations and Clubs
1. The OPEN LUXEMBOURG NATIONALS will be held under the rules of FINA and
of the Luxembourg Swimming Federation (FLNS). This competition is open for all
swimmers and teams, who are members of official swimming clubs, which are
member of their National Swimming Federation registered with FINA.
2. The OPEN LUXEMBOURG NATIONALS will be held on July 02nd – 03rd 2016 in
the Olympic 50m pool of the Aquatic Centre „d’Coque“ in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.
The competition pool has 10 lanes with a depth of 2.20m. Water temperature is
26°C. There will be electronic OMEGA timing. Traini ng pool (4x25m) will be
available during the meeting.
3. The program will take place according to the program attached. The beginning of
the races may be changed, if the numbers of entries makes it necessary. The
competition will be held on 8 lanes and is approved by FINA to reach the
Olympic Qualification Times for the Olympic Games Rio 2016.
Classification will be “Open”, independent of the age of the swimmers. There will
be prelims and finals in the 50 and 100m races. The fastest eight (8) swimmers
will qualify for the finals. In the case of less than 9 entries for one race, the
swimmers will proceed directly to the finals.

4. All races 200 m and longer will be swum in direct finals.
The winner will receive the title as „OPEN LUXEMBOURG CHAMPION“.
The first 3 in each individual event will receive medals. The first 3 relay teams will
receive cups. The victory ceremonies are part of the competition. Medals will not
be given afterwards.
5. Two (2) heats of a “Kids-Final” (only for Luxembourg Swimmers) will be swum
after the Heats of Event Nr. 18 (400 medley women) on Saturday Afternoon and
Event Nr. 37 (200m Breaststroke) on Sunday Afternoon.
6. The entries can be made via „Lenex“ File (will be published on our webite
www.flns.lu soon).
7. Entry times shall be 50m pool times and shall be swum from 01.05.2015 –
25.06.2016. There are no time limits.
8. The entry fees are € 7,00 for individual and € 13,00 for relay entries. The entry
fees have to be paid via bank transfer latest 29.06.2016) to the following bank

d) Training and warming up:
The competition pool will be open for warm up approx. 90 minutes until 15 minutes
before of the sessions. The training pool will be open throughout the competition.
