New leasing business grew by 6.8%M to €6.6 billion in 2010 Lease finance outstandings rose to €19 billion (+7.4%) International operations account 39% of the overall factoring business (+4% in 2009) Factory turnover jumped to €57.8 billion from €44.6 billion (2009) CA restructured its leasing and factoring business last year, merging CA Leasing and Factoring (CAL & F) CAL&F gross operating income grew 18.4% to €233 million SG Equipment Finance (SGEF) saw growth turn positive in mid-2010 – p.7 SGEF is part of the specialized financial services and insurance division, including consumer finance, operational vehicle leasing, IT leasing… SGEF reported a return to growth mid-way through 2010 for SGEF which has since experienced a sustained upward trend in new business volumes. Total new business grew about 2.3%, €9.33 billion in 2010 (€9.12 billion in 2009) Recording growth for Spain (66%) thanks to high-tech market and UK, Poland (21%) SGEF made a good level of net banking income. German leasing has emerged from the crisis as one of the strongest markets in Europe (+4%). In the same time even in the strongest of economics, leasing has taken its knocks: In equipment leasing, new business fell 4% in the first 6 months of 2010 but during the second half, it rebounds to bring growth for the whole year to 2.5% and reached back 4% again (backdrop of business investment in hard assets of 6.4 percent). Leasing fell by 3 basis points (from 14.6% in 2009 to 14.3% in 2010) On average, 60% of small companies use leasing with a large part of leased equipment Total new leasing business was €43.6 billion in 2010 (€41.9 billion in 2009); Equipment and vehicle leasing represented €41 billion : vehicles (64% ; grew +2.6%) ; equipment (30% ; grew +2.3%) ; real estate (6% ; grew +35.6%) No downswing in the first quarter of 2011 as expected, which influences full-year forecasts and estimation shows that the growth could reach 10% Smaller operators under pressure - p.22 Around 1000 leasing companies registered at BaFin (the financial sector supervisor), are expected to reduce considerably. Possibility that smaller companies disappear if they do not take a specialist approach. BNP Paribas’ acquisition of the Fortis business across Europe has given new cards to BNP Paribas Leasing Solution’s in Germany. Competition is very strong, not only among leasing companies, but also between the leasing product and the likes of Sparkassen and Volskbanken with their credit product. Subsidiaries opened in Turkey and Brazil in 2010, and are expected to be growth drivers Staff numbers increased from 507 to 538 (2010), reflecting the expansion into new markets Google s’apprête à tester le paiement sans contact (16 Mars 11) Selon Bloomberg, Google testerait prochainement les technologies de paiement sans contact (NFC) dans des magasins de New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago et Washington, D.C. Ces technologies permettraient en effet aux clients des magasins de payer avec leur téléphone mobile grâce à une puce intégrée. VeriFone Systems Inc. fabriquant de terminaux de paiement, et ViVOtech, fournisseur de technologies de paiement mobile, participeraient à ce projet. Grâce à cette technologie NFC, le service mis en place par Google permettrait les paiements standards ainsi que la prise en compte d’informations financières du consommateur, des cartes-cadeaux, cartes de fidélité et bons. Une puce NFC intègre déjà le Nexus S de Google. Nokia et Research In Motion ont annoncé leurs recherches sur la conception de terminaux intégrant cette technologie. Kelkoo dénombre 11 millions d’internautes de plus de 50 ans et 9,2 millions de cyber-acheteurs (soit 34% de l’hexagone ; 27,3 millions). Ils réalisent ainsi 48% des dépenses françaises annuelles totales sur le web (15 milliards d’euros). Leurs achats internet s’avèrent 36% supérieure à la moyenne nationale et concernent voyages, produits culturels (68%), articles high-tech (52%), et vêtements (50%)… Hors alimentation, 39% des dépenses du budget de consommation courante des seniors se font en ligne (1644 euros), soit plus de la moitié de la moyenne française des cyber-achats estimée à 1208 euros par an. Economies et gains de temps (livraison à domicile) sont leurs principales motivations. Par contre alliant pratique et prudence, ils privilégient marques et magasins connus en prenant le temps de considérer les avis des autres internautes... Consommateurs à part entière, les seniors obligent par conséquent les e-commerçants à adapter leurs offres de produits et services : leur nombre évolue sans cesse et ce sont de gros consommateurs (50% du marché global pour 2015). No preferred suppliers have been chosen and the programme has no link to Siemens products as such.
