Revue presse HB 2005 - Château Haut Bailly
Millésime 2005 WINE JOURNAL, Neal Martin, February 2015 The Château Haut-Bailly 2005 has a really quite fabulous bouquet with exuberant red and black fruit: sage, red currants, juniper and warm roof tiles on a summer's day. The palate is medium-bodied with layers and layers of grippy black fruit laced with black truffle and wild mushroom. It is incredibly well balanced with perfect acidity, the structure and backbone on the finish suggesting this will be a very "long-runner". Outstanding. 95 pts HEDONIST’S GAZETTE, Robert Parker, November 2014 A stunningly young wine with notes of subtle barbecue smoke, blackcurrant, lead pencil shavings and very intense flavors, at the same time, the wine is still medium-bodied, elegant, focused and complex. This wine is still an infant, but with extraordinary potential for 50 or more years of evolution. 18/20 GAULT&MILLAU – Les meilleurs Vins de France 2011, octobre 2010 : 19/20 LE POINT - Jacques Dupont, janvier 2010 Fruits noirs, séveux, bouche onctueuse, fermée, tanins fermes. Très fort potentiel, équilibre parfait. 18.5/20 DECANTER, December 2009 Deep, smoky fruit, with ripeness and elegance. Broad, open palate, clean expression. 16.66/20 THE WORLD OF FINE WINE, Issue 24, September 2009 Deep ruby-purple. Oak is apparent on the nose, but so also is the earthy Graves fruit. Very young and secondary at the moment. Medium-full bodied, not massive by any means, with a potent tannin structure that is perhaps largely oak-derived. Brisk acidity keeps everything refreshing. Excellent length, and overall a restrained expression of a big vintage. Once mature, this should be delicious, but still it needs plenty of time. 18/20 1001 WINES – Neil Beckett, 2009 Haut-Bailly’s hallmark is elegance, but it is not a thin or attenuated wine. There is flesh and well-judged oak, but also not lack of density. The tannins are never too overt, and there is a seamless character to its texture in the best vintages. The sleek, stylish 2005 shows Haut-Bailly at its best. Like previous vintages it will quickly show its character and charm, yet retain its distinction for many decades. *** Drink: to 2030 THE WINE CELLAR INSIDER - Jeff Leve, June 2009 This took me by surprise. I admit, I liked the 06, but I loved the 05! Gobs of black fruit, smoke, chocolate and tobacco. Dense and filled with elegant, ripe fruit. There is a lot going on in this wine. The style, elegance and finesse is a pleasure to taste, swirl, sniff and sip. This was so good, it is one of the few wines Millésime 2005 I bought after tasting it. The wine reminds me of scaled down version of Haut Brion. If you like Haut Bailly, or Graves, this Bordeaux wine belongs in your cellar. 95 points JANCIS ROBINSON, February 2009 Tea-leaf freshness. Lively and racy and sinewy (rather than being extra deep and complex). Pretty drying tannins on the finish. Fades very fast to nothing. 2013 à 2025. 17,5/20 WEIN GOURMET, Juli/August 2006 Sehr dunkel. Recht intensive Brombeer-Aromen, mineralische Noten. Tanninreich, sehr dicht, kompakt, straff, lang und konzentriert, streng und geradlinig. Lange lagerfähig. Grossartig! 96-98 WEINWISSER, April 2006 Tiefes Rubin-Lila. Imponerande. 94-96
