NUNC DIMITTIS
Service in F
Gloria, laus, et honor tibit sit, Rex Christe redemptor; cui puerile
decus prompsit hosanna pium. Israel es tu Rex Davidis et inclyta
proles; nomine qui in Domini, Rex benedicite, venis.
Glory, praise and honour to you, Christ, Redeemer King, to whom
the children sang their glad hosannas. You are the King of Israel, of
David’s royal lineage; a blessed King, you come in the name of the
Lord.

PSALM / PSAUME 99 Dominus regnavit
George Thalben-Ball
1 The Lord is King; let the peoples tremble; / he sitteth upon the
cherubim; let the earth be moved.
2 The Lord is great in Sion, / and high above all the peoples.
3 Let them give thanks unto thy Name, / which is great and
wonderful; for he is holy.
4 The King’s power loveth judgement; thou dost establish equity: /
thou dost execute judgement and righteousness in Jacob.
5 O magnify the Lord our God, / and fall down before his footstool;
for he is holy.
6 Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among such as
call upon his Name: / these called upon the Lord, and he heard
them.
7 He spake unto them out of the cloudy pillar; / for they kept his
testimonies, and the law that he gave them.
8 Thou heardest them, O Lord our God; / thou forgavest them, O
God, though thou didst punish their doings.
9 O magnify the Lord our God, and worship at his holy hill; / for
the Lord our God is holy.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be;
World without end, Amen.

(French translation)
Ce jour-là, il y aura un autel pour le Seigneur au centre du pays

d’Égypte : quand ils crieront vers le Seigneur devant ceux qui les

SECOND LESSON / DEUXIEME LECTURE
Alan Ridout (1934-96)
Matthew 21:1-13
(English translation)
When they had come near Jerusalem and had reached Bethphage, at
the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them, "Go
into the village ahead of you, and immediately you will find a
donkey tied, and a colt with her; untie them and bring them to me. If
anyone says anything to you, just say this, 'The Lord needs them.'
And he will send them immediately." This took place to fulfill what
had been spoken through the prophet, saying, "Tell the daughter of
Zion, Look, your king is coming to you, humble, and mounted on a
donkey, and on a colt, the foal of a donkey." The disciples went and
did as Jesus had directed them; they brought the donkey and the colt,
and put their cloaks on them, and he sat on them. A very large crowd
spread their cloaks on the road, and others cut branches from the
trees and spread them on the road. The crowds that went ahead of
him and that followed were shouting, "Hosanna to the Son of David!
Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in
the highest heaven!" When he entered Jerusalem, the whole city was
in turmoil, asking, "Who is this?" The crowds were saying, "This is
the prophet Jesus from Nazareth in Galilee."Then Jesus entered the
temple and drove out all who were selling and buying in the temple,
and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of
those who sold doves. He said to them, ‘It is written, “My house
shall be called a house of prayer”; but you are making it a den of
robbers.’
