ist nur für den Einsatz am ISDN-S0-Anschluss
geeignet. Während des Tests mit dem SiTi pro
sollten keine ISDN-Endgeräte angeschlossen
sein.
Diese Anleitung beschreibt den Test von
ISDN-Installationen ohne oder vor ISDN-TKAn-lagen. Zur Überprüfung von internen ISDNAnschlüssen hinter TK-Anlagen wird der Test in
gleicher Weise durchgeführt, jedoch muss der
SiTi pro Testsender (l) nicht an den NTBA,
sondern an den zu prüfenden internen ISDNS0-Anschluss angeschlossen werden.
Please read thoroughly these directions for use
to avoid wrong handling or malfunctions. SiTi
pro is suited for being used solely at ISDN S0
outlets. No ISDN terminals should be connected
during tests with SiTi pro.
This operations guide describes the check of
ISDN installations without a connected PBX, or
installations that are connected before a PBX.
To check an internal ISDN installation behind a
PBX proceed as described below. However, do
not plug the SiTi pro test transmitter (l) into
the NT but plug it into the internal ISDN S0
output of the PBX.

installation RNIS sans central ou d’une installation branchée devant un central. Pour vérifier une installation RNIS derrière un central
on peut procéder comme décrit ci-dessous.
Cependant ne pas enficher le SiTi pro émetteur de test (l) dans le NT mais l’enficher dans
la sortie RNIS S0 interne du central.

SiTi pro ist eine einfache Testeinrichtung um
ISDN-S0-Installationen auf Installationsfehler
zu testen. SiTi pro besteht aus einem Test­
sender (l) und einem Testempfänger (¡)
(diese auf den Geräten aufgedruckten
Symbole dienen als Unterscheidungs­merkmal).
Der Testsender (l) wird in eine der beiden
Anschlussbuchsen des Netzabschluss­
gerätes
(NTBA) eingesteckt. Mit dem Testempfänger
(¡) werden alle Anschlüsse der ISDNInstallation auf Defekte oder Installationsfehler
überprüft.
SiTi pro is a simple test device to check ISDN
S0 installations for wiring errors. SiTi pro
is made of a test transmitter (l) and a test
receiver (¡) (these symbols are printed on
the devices for a better distinction). The test
transmitter (l) is plugged in one of the two
jacks of the network termination (NT). The test
receiver (¡) is used to check all connections
of the ISDN installation for defects or installation errors.
Le SiTi pro est un simple appareil de test pour
vérifier le bon raccordement des câbles dans
une installation RNIS S0. Le SiTi pro est composé
d’un émetteur de test (l) et d’un récepteur
de test (¡) (ces symboles, imprimés sur les
appareils servent à faciliter leur distinction).
L’émetteur de test (l) est enfiché dans une
des deux prises de la boîte de terminaison de
réseau. Le récepteur de test (¡) est enfiché
dans les boîtes de jonction de l’installation
RNIS et ainsi celle-ci est vérifiée pour trouver
d’éventuels défauts ou erreurs de câblage.
Zum Betrieb wird der SiTi pro aus dem ISDNS0-Anschluss gespeist. Bei längerem Einsatz
kann sich dadurch das Gehäuse erwärmen.
Diese Erwärmung ist normal und führt zu
keiner Beschädigung oder Fehlfunktion.
Grundsätzlich gilt jedoch:
SiTi pro ist ein Testgerät und nicht für den
Dauerbetrieb geeignet. Der SiTi pro Testsender
(l) und der SiTi pro Testempfänger (¡) sollten
nicht länger als notwendig an einem ISDNAnschluss eingesteckt sein.
Wichtig: Falls nach dem Test der Installation
kein Gerät am ISDN-Anschluss funktioniert,
überprüfen Sie bitte, ob nicht vergessen wurde,
den SiTi pro Testsender (l) auszustecken.
The SiTi pro is feeded by the ISDN S0 line.
When used for a prolonged period the
housing may warm up. This warming is normal
and does not cause any defect or malfunction.
Please note:
SiTi pro is a test device and not suited for
permanent use. Remove the SiTi pro test
transmitter (l) and SiTi pro test receiver (¡)
after testing, do not leave them plugged to a
ISDN line longer than necessary.
Important: If after testing no terminal of
the ISDN installation is working please check
if the SiTi pro test transmitter (l) has been
unplugged.

ré­
chauffement du boîtier. Ceci est un effet

leuchtet). Abschlusswiderstände können eingebaut sein. Endgeräte dürfen nicht angeschlossen sein.
Requirements:
The ISDN line is working in normal power condition (the green LED of the SiTi pro test transmitter (l) is lighting). Termination resistors can
be mounted. No terminals should be connected.

La ligne RNIS doit être en service normal (la
LED verte du SiTi pro émetteur de test (l)
luit). Les résistances de terminaisons peuvent

Check:
When the SiTi pro test transmitter (l) is plugged
to one of the two jacks of the NT a test signal
is released into the installation. This test signal
is received and analysed by the SiTi pro test
receiver (¡) that was plugged in one of the
ISDN outlets. One by one all ISDN wall outlets
are checked in the same way for defects or
installation errors.

We recommend to start the installation check
with the outlet that is nearest to the NT and
then do one outlet after another. Errors will
then be detected directly on the spot. If the
check is started with the last outlet then errors
all over the installation will be indicated, but it
will be difficult to situate them precisely.

la plus proche du NT et de faire ensuite une
boîte après l’autre. Ainsi les erreurs se laissent
détecter directement. Si, par contre, la vérification commence à la fin de l’installation,

Test:
Sobald der SiTi pro Testsender (l) in einer
der beiden Anschlussbuchsen des NTBA eingesteckt ist, wird ein Testsignal in die Installation
gesendet. Dieses Testsignal wird vom SiTi pro
Testempfänger (¡), der zuvor in eine der ISDNAnschlussdosen eingesteckt wurde, empfangen und ausgewertet. Nacheinander werden
vom NTBA aus sämtliche ISDN-Anschlussdosen
auf Defekte oder Installationsfehler überprüft.
Es empfiehlt sich, vom NTBA ausgehend die
Installation zu testen, da dadurch die Fehler
dort lokalisiert werden, wo sie sich befinden. Würden Sie stattdessen am Ende der
Installation beginnen zu testen, würden sämtliche Fehler angezeigt und die Lokalisierung
erheblich erschwert werden.

überprüft und die eventuell vorhandenen
Fehler korrigiert wurden, ist der Installationstest beendet. Stecken Sie den SiTi pro Testsender (l) und den SiTi pro Testempfänger
(¡) wieder aus. Anschließend kann die ISDNInstallation in Betrieb genommen werden.

When all wall outlets are checked and errors
corrected the installation test is finished.
Unplug the SiTi pro test transmitter (l) and
SiTi pro test receiver (¡). The ISDN installation
is now ready to start.

Analysis of the LED indications at the
SiTi pro test receiver (¡)

The LEDs 4, 5, 3 and 6 of the SiTi pro test
receiver (¡) indicate which contacts of the
ISDN line are power supplied. If the wire is
correctly connected and power is correctly
applied the respective LED lights green. For
interrupted wires the LEDs do not light, if a
wire of one pair was reversed with one of
another pair the respective LED lights red.
If terminating resistors are mounted in the
ISDN installation the indications of the LEDs
4, 5, 3 and 6 may be wrong caused by voltage
bridging. In this case the reversal LEDs X1 and
X2 indicate if wires of a pair are interrupted
(LED does not light). The reversal LEDs X1
or X2 light red if the wires of this pair are
reversed.
Les LED du SiTi pro récepteur de test
nommées 4, 5, 3 et 6 indiquent les contacts
alimentés de l’installation RNIS. Si le fil est
correctement raccordé et l’alimentation est
appliquée comme il faut la LED respective luit
verte. Si les fils sont interrompus la LED respective ne luit pas; si les fils d’une paire ont été
inversés avec les fils d’une autre paire la LED
respective luit rouge. Si les résistances de
terminaison sont montées dans l’installation
RNIS les indications 4, 5, 3 et 6 risquent d’être
fausses à cause du pont de tension. Dans
ces cas les LED témoins d’inversion X1 et X2
indiquent si les fils de la paire en question
sont interrompus (la LED ne luit pas). Si les
LED témoins d’inversion X1 et X2 luisent rouge
les fils de la paire en question sont renversés.
Die Anzeigen im SiTi pro Testempfänger (¡)
mit den Bezeichnungen 4, 5, 3 und 6 zeigen
an, an welchen Kontakten des ISDN-Anschlusses
die Versorgungsspannung anliegt. Ist der
Draht richtig angeschlossen und die Versorgungsspannung liegt korrekt an, leuchtet die
entsprechende Anzeige grün. Sind Drähte
unterbrochen, leuchtet die entsprechende
Anzeige nicht; sind Drähte aus einem Adernpaar mit Drähten aus dem anderen Adernpaar
vertauscht, leuchtet die entsprechende Ader
LED rot. Sind Abschlusswiderstände in der
ISDN-Installation montiert, können wegen
Spannungsüberbrückung die Anzeigen 4, 5,
3 und 6 falsch sein. Für diese Fälle zeigen
die Vertauschungsanzeigen X1 und X2 an,
ob Adern im jeweiligen Adernpaar unterbrochen sind (Anzeige leuchtet nicht). Leuchten
die Vertauschungsanzeigen X1 oder X2 rot,
bedeutet dies eine Adervertauschung im
jeweiligen Adernpaar.
Als grundsätzliche Aussage gilt: leuchten
alle Anzeigen grün, ist der Anschluss in
Ordnung.

To get any error indication it is necessary that
a minimum of two wires (any) are connected
and the SiTi pro test receiver (l) indicates
normal power condition (green LED is
lighting). The examples below are for an
installation without terminating resistors.
More combinations are possible in addition to
the errors described below.

zwei Adern (beliebig) angeschlossen sein und
der SiTi pro Testsender (l) muss Normal­
