Chers actionnaires,
Des travaux de prospection sont présentement en cours sur la
propriété Sakami.
Ces travaux seront réalisés de mai à
septembre 2001. Trois volets (ou 3 métaux) sont visés par
cette campagne d’exploration, à savoir : la recherche d'or,
d’émeraudes et de diamants. À l’automne, une campagne de
forage suivra ces travaux d’exploration
La majeure partie des fonds alloués à la campagne d’exploration
sera investie pour l'or.
De la cartographie géologique, du
décapage et de la prospection auront lieu tout l’été.
À l'origine, la propriété Sakami avait été choisie pour son haut
potentiel en émeraude. L’importante découverte d'or a changé
les plans et remis à une période ultérieure la recherche
d’émeraudes. Matamec reprendra l'exploration des émeraudes
cet été.
Finalement, la compagnie effectuera un survol pour l'exploration
des diamants. La propriété Sakami se retrouve dans le corridor
Wemindji-Caniapiscau.
Ce corridor a été localisé par les
chercheurs du gouvernement du Québec (Ministère des
ressources naturelles) et identifié comme possédant un potentiel
diamantifère très intéressant.
La compagnie a acquis une propriété aurifère (Langloiserie) sur
laquelle des travaux de prospection et de décapage débuteront
très bientôt.

Matamec wishes to inform you that exploration work on the
Sakami property began in May month and will carry on till
September 2001. Three phases (or 3 metals) are aimed by
this exploration campaign, that is: gold, emerald and
diamond.
In fall, a drilling campaign will follow this
exploration
work.
Most of the funds allotted to the exploration campaign will
be invested for the exploration of gold. Geological mapping,
stripping (overburden) and prospecting will carry on all
summer.
At the beginning, the Sakami property was chosen for its
high emerald potential. The significant gold discovery
changed all the plans and the emerald investigation was
postponed. However,
Matamec will carry out emerald
exploration
this
summer.
Finally, the company will carry out a diamond exploration
overview. The Sakami property is located in the WemindjiCaniapiscau corridor which was found by the Quebec
government researchers (Ministry of Natural Resources) and
identified as having a very interesting diamondiferous
potential.
