13e allumage annuelle de notre arbre de Noël, le 2 décembre 18 h 45
13th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, December 2, 6:45 p.m.
The Municipality of Argyle invites you
to attend the ―13th Annual Christmas
Tree Lighting Ceremony‖ to be held on
Sunday, December 2, 2007 at the
Tusket Courthouse and Municipal Office
in Tusket, Yarmouth County.
The events will begin at 6:45 p.m. with
Opening Ceremonies & Christmas
Carols. The lighting of the tree will take
place at 7:00 p.m.
Hot chocolate will be served and there
will be hayrides taking place at the
Municipal Office, after the lighting of
the tree. There will also be a special
visit from Santa Claus. All are
welcome to attend. For more

Municipal Recreation Department at

Attention Community Groups!
Recreation Grants
Grant application forms are presently available
through the Argyle Municipal Recreation
Department to community groups wishing to apply
for funding for the 2008-2009 fiscal year.
Deadline to submit application is January 31, 2008.
Forms are available at the Argyle Recreation
Department, 27 courthouse Road, Tusket.

2008 calendars
Enjoying Ourselves is the theme of the 2008 calendar.
Enjoying Ourselves is Argyle Historical Society’s
thirteenth annual, bilingual calendar. It contains fifteen
photographs, with full descriptive notes, from Amirault’s
Hill, Surette’s Island, Tusket, Abram’s River, the Argyles,
East and West Pubnico, Pleasant Lake, Sluice Point,
Kemptville, Wedgeport, Quinan, and Yarmouth. The
calendar has thirty-two pages printed on heavy semi-gloss
paper. Principal holidays are indicated with room for
appointments. A great, nostalgic Christmas gift we can
mail anywhere for you!
The calendar is now available for $10 at the following
locations:

(Tusket); Carl’s Store (Tusket); Ultra Mart (Tusket);
Credit Union (Wedgeport); Petro Can Station (Pubnico)

31st Annual Yarmouth County Athletic Awards Night
The 31st Annual Yarmouth County Athletic Awards Night was held Friday, November 16 at the Yarmouth Fire Hall.
Over 200 athletes, coaches, volunteers, and officials were honored for achievements in Provincial, Atlantic, or
National competitions in various sport activities during the past year.

Avez-vous ou connaissez-vous un enfant qui profitera de participer dans des
activités communautaires, mais n’ont pas les moyens de payer les frais? On
peut aider!
Conçu pour aider aux enfants et aux familles avec le coût des
programmes de sports et loisirs.
L’objectif du programme est de créer des opportunités pour tous les
enfants peu importe leurs milieux socio-économiques.
Ouvert aux jeunes âgés de 16 et moins qui ne peuvent pas fournir les frais
nécessaires.

Février/February Family Winter Challenge
The Municipality of Argyle Recreation Department would like to challenge you and your family to be winter-active four (4)
times a week for the month of February.
We will provide families with tally sheets to record what you did and how long you did it for. Each Monday of every week
the results are to be submitted to the Recreation Department by: telephone (648-3379), by e-mail
([email protected]), or by fax (648-0367). Tally sheets will be sent through the schools or can be picked up at
the Recreation Department.
Prizes will be awarded.
