Canada Marketing Awards 2014 Investissement
Canada Marketing Awards 2014 Investissement Québec’s Entry in the Promotional Items Category Investissement Québec’s Participation in ILA Berlin Air Show Berlin, May 25, 2014 – ILA 2014 covered all aspects of the aerospace industry and was a major attraction for the public. From May 20 to 25, some 1,200 exhibitors from 40 countries displayed the industry’s entire range of current high‐tech products and R&D projects. Exhibitor numbers were the second‐highest in the 105‐year history of the event. Some 227,000 trade visitors and members of the public flocked to the 250,000 square‐metre venue—the Berlin Expo Center Airport. At 120,000, the number of trade visitors remained at a high level and stable. Standing out in such an environment, however attractive your service offering, is a great challenge. Since Investissement Québec had not participated in the last edition of this biennial event, the task seemed even more challenging. The “wow effect” needed to be strong. Investissement Québec commissioned TAM‐Tam Agency to install five inflatable balloons, three metres in diameter, outside the convention hangars. Each balloon, floating five to ten metres in the air, carried our name and the location of our stand on the ILA Convention floor. The Investissement Québec stand was also designed to attract more visitors. A representative from Montréal International was on hand, as were investment specialists from Investissement Québec. Effectiveness It was virtually impossible not to notice our promotional balloons. As hoped, they generated much comment and attracted spontaneous visits to the stand. More than twelve in‐depth meetings were held at the stand with international visitors wishing to find out more about the competitive advantages of Québec in the aerospace sector. From this initial harvest of twelve, four on‐site visits will be organized in Québec during the fall of 2014—the first step to serious offers. Follow‐up communications with all contacts made during ILA are earnestly pursued. Our signature campaign will be repeated in 2016, drawing as much as possible on the instant notoriety that it created. INVESTISSEMENT QUÉBEC
