au concert des lauréats. Il y interpréta le Concerto n°24 de W.A. Mozart, retransmis notamment par Radio Vatican.
Entre 2006 et 2012, Alexander Yakovlev se voit décerner 55 premiers prix des plus prestigieuses compétitions de piano. Après avoir
remporté, le concours international Valesia Musica à Varello (Italie) il enregistre le 3e Concerto pour piano de Prokoviev avec le label
« Suonare » (Italie), un CD vendu à plus de 5000 exemplaires. Il remporte également le Concours de Genève, « Rina Salo Galo » à Monza
(Italie), le Prix « Polizi » à Seregno (Italie), le Concours « Artur Schabel » de Berlin (Allemagne). Il gagne le Premier prix des célèbres
concours de Madrid, Cantu (Italie), Ferro (Espagne), le concours « Boesendorfer » de Sofia et le « Neue Sterne » en Allemagne.
En 2010, Alexander Yakovlev gagne le Premier prix du concours international de Monterrey le « Parnassos » (Mexique) ; deux plus tard il
crée la sensation lors du prestigieux concours de Cincinnati. La Presse le décrit virtuose et intelligent, « Alexander Yakovlev a son propre
style et puise son inspiration au plus profond des compositeurs …/… Sa remarquable virtuosité dénote un tempérament passionné et

Alexander parcours la planète et se produit dans plus de 50 pays : en Europe, Asie et Amérique. Il a déjà donné plus de 500 concerts dans
les grandes salles internationales, notamment dans la Grande salle du Conservatoire Tchaïkovski de Moscou, la Concert Hall de la Société
du Philharmonique de Berlin, le Concert Hall de Genève, la salle Verdi du conservatoire de Milan, le Palau de la Musica de Valence,

Alexander Yakovlev is one of the most brilliant representatives of the
Russian piano school. In 2010 he won the competition in the Japanese city
of Takamatsu and made a concert tour throughout Japan. After that

and called him as one of the most perspective musicians of his generation.
Alexander Yakovlev was born in Rostov-on-Don (Russia) in 1981. Alexander began his musical studies at the age of 6. He completed
Rostov-on-Don conservatory and post graduate course in classical piano with professor Sergey Osipenko. At the same time, Alexander
studied composition in the class of professor Leonid Klinichev. Later on, he studied in Salzburg Academy Mozarteum with professor Alexey
Lubimov and in Berlin University of Arts (UdK) with professor Pascal Devoyon. Also he took masterclasses with professor Vincenzo Balzani
in Milan.
The rapid growth of the pianist's international carrier started in 2006 after his winning the piano competition named after Chopin in Rome

performance was broadcasted throughout the world by Vatican Radio.

I enjoyed his pristine touch in Mozart's Piano Sonata No. 18 in D Major. He played with singing tone, and the
finale sparkled. He told me that he has studied Mozart in Salzburg (Mozart's hometown in Austria) on authentic
pianos that Mozart would have used, and his musicianship and classical style were first-rate.
I had mixed impressions about Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition," a suite of pieces depicting a stroll
through a gallery of pictures by Viktor Hartmann. Each movement takes on a different character, depending
upon the painting.
Yakovlev's tempos were very brisk off the bat – too much for my taste.
He possesses technique in spades – I've never heard such a fast "Market
at Limoges," where his hands were a blur. And the "Catacombs" had
gorgeous weight and atmosphere.
What was missing was breathing between numbers, and sometimes
speed came at the expense of accuracy. Big chords were punishing; I've
never heard "The Great Gate of Kiev" performed with such power, with
great fistfuls of orchestral sonorities filling the hall. Later, the pianist said
that he had itte his o t a s iptio to so e of this usi .

Celui-ci, Alexander Yakovlev est une sorte de phénomène russe du piano, déniché par Philip de la Croix (par
ailleurs, directeur artistique de « Prima La Musica ! ») à la suite de sa victoire au dernier Concours de Lyon, et
qui offre par là même son tout premier concert français. Une révélation ! Avec un jeu – o ’ose ait pa le de
doigté – viril, incandesce t, e tigi eu , da s l’i possi le Concerto de Stravinsky. Trois bis, réclamés avec
insistance par le public, ne font que confirmer une technique éblouissante, à travers des pages tout aussi
périlleuses de Scarlatti, Moussorgski (arrangement du soliste lui-même) et Stravinsky (extrait de Petrouchka)
