villes et de nos villages et le souvenir inoubliable d’un des plus grands évènements de
notre histoire nationale et mondiale : le Débarquement.
Cette année encore, je vous invite à séjourner et découvrir cet environnement naturel et
historique exceptionnel.

To say the name “Coeur de Nacre” is to talk about a region where life is good, a land of contrasts where
the green countryside mixes with the shimmering blue sea.
This is a region which mixes the richness of rural landscapes, the history of our towns and villages and
the unforgettable memory of one of the biggest events in our national and world history: the D-Day
landings. This year, once again, I invite you to come and stay and discover this exceptional natural and
historic place. Coeur de Nacre is far from the beaten track and is precisely the authentic destination that
you and your family have been looking for. Come and make the most of the diversity our region has to
offer. Take part in sporting activities, relax, discover our rich cultural and historical heritage and enjoy

De naam Coeur de Nacre voor de geest halen, brengt ons allen naar een streek waar het goed toeven is,
waar het groen van het platteland zich verweeft met het paarlemoer blauw van onze kust. Een gebied
dat de rijkdom van rurale landschappen, het historisch patrimonium van onze steden en dorpen, en de
onvergetelijke herinnering aan de invasie - een van de grootste evenementen van onze nationale en
de wereldgeschiedenis - met elkaar verenigt. Dit jaar nog, nodig ik u uit om hier te komen vertoeven en
deze buitengewone natuurlijke, historische omgeving te ontdekken. Veraf van de welgekende wegen
en aangegeven routes is Coeur de Nacre de originele bestemming die u voor uzelf en uw familie wilde
uitzoeken. Kom de veelzijdigheid van onze streek beleven via een ontelbaar aantal sportactiviteiten,

Terres de Nacre se compose des 10 communes littorales, rurales et urbaines de la Communauté de Communes Cœur de Nacre. Ce territoire offre une variété de paysages et
un large éventail d’offres touristiques pour des vacances réussies. Farniente au bord de
l’eau, sports et loisirs de plein air, balade en campagne, moment d’émotions sur les lieux
du D-Day… petits et grands ne sauront plus où donner de la tête !
L’Office de Tourisme intercommunal Terres de Nacre regroupe quatre bureaux d’information touristique à Bernières-sur-mer, Langrune-sur-mer, Luc-sur-mer et Saint-Aubin-surmer. Les conseillères en séjour sont à votre disposition pour vous conseiller dans la préparation de vos vacances. Dans le cadre de notre démarche qualité, notre équipe s’engage

Leve de pêche à pied of schelpdierenvangst! Ga met schop en emmertje
tussen de rotsen op zoek naar steurgarnalen en kleine krabben. Let wel op de
getijden. Voor het getijdenschema kunt

The Nacre Coast is 15 km long and is well known for its salty ocean
breezes and invigorating bathing. Its sandy beaches are bordered by
walkable dykes and punctuated with famous white beach cabins.
De Côte de Nacre strekt zich uit over 15 km. en staat bekend om haar
jodiumrijke lucht en opwekkende baden. De zandstranden reiken tot
aan de wandeldijken en zijn afgebakend met de beroemde witte strandcabines.
Een moment van rust onder een parasol, een kajakinitiatie of nog, amusement in de strandclub ... ieder kan er zich helemaal aan zijn favoriete
activiteit wijden. Wie het spannender wil, kan terecht bij de zeilscholen en -clubs, die een waaier van watersporten aanbieden: catamaran,
zeilboten, windsurfen, funboard, kajakken op zee, kitesurfen, stand-up
paddle ...

Côté terre… Au gré de vos flâneries, imprégnez-vous du

On land… Depending on what you’re looking for, you can submerge
yourself in the charms of the picturesque stone villages dating from
the Middle Ages which are dotted around the countryside. History buffs
will be spoilt for choice, with Roman and Gothic churches, Anglo-Norman buildings, medieval kingdoms like la Baronnie, the Notre-Dame Basilica which houses the Black Virgin statue, World War Two battle sites
and museums, the whale house, rococo and Art Deco villas on the sea
fronts…

Aan het water ... In de 19e eeuw werd zeebaden een trend. Spoorlijnen
werden aangelegd zodat de Parijzenaren hun vakanties in Normandië
konden doorbrengen. Vissersdorpjes ruimden plaats voor elegante
badsteden met parken en tuinen. Tussen Bernières-sur-mer en Luc-surmer zijn nog een aantal Belle Epoque villa’s te zien.

Depuis 1940, la France est occupée. Craignant un Débarquement, Hitler ordonne en 1941 la construction du Mur de l’Atlantique le long de la mer du Nord, de la Manche et de l’Atlantique. Le Mur était principalement constitué de batteries
et d’obstacles installés sur les plages, dont quelques vestiges
sont encore visibles aujourd’hui le long des côtes.
La Normandie a été le théâtre de la bataille historique de
1944… Le 6 juin, plus de 150 000 soldats débarquent par la mer
et le ciel en Normandie pour libérer la France puis l’Europe
du joug nazi.
Parcourez les plages de Juno et de Sword, sur les traces de nos
libérateurs Canadiens et Britanniques. Visitez les mémoriaux
et les musées dédiés à l’histoire de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, comme le musée du Radar 44 à Douvres-la-Délivrande et
le Centre Juno Beach à Courseulles-sur-mer. Recueillez-vous sur
les tombes de ceux qui ont donné leur vie pour notre liberté.

Wall, the history of the radar and the daily life of the

Se déplacer en Côte de Nacre : Le réseau des
Bus Verts du Calvados permet de rejoindre la
Côte de Nacre rapidement au départ de Caen
avec la ligne 3 ou de Bayeux avec la ligne 74.
Les Bus Verts ce sont des horaires idéalement
répartis sur la journée avec, en direction de
Caen, un bus par heure du lundi au samedi et
un bus toutes les deux heures le dimanche.
Et aussi de nombreuses liaisons toute la
semaine, des tarifs très avantageux et la
garantie du service Bus Verts.

Getting around: The Calvados Green Bus network
provides a fast connection to the Nacre coast from
Caen with line 3 or Bayeux with line 74. The Green
Buses leave for Caen at times ideally spaced out
throughout the day, with one bus per hour from
Monday to Saturday and one bus every two hours
on Sundays. There are also numerous connections
throughout the week at great low rates, and with
the guarantee of a good service that comes with the
Green Bus name.
Useful info: all information is available from Monday
to Saturday, from 7am to 8pm by calling
+33 (0)9 70 83 00 14, where the info line team will tell
you the best public transport option departing from
your town. This information is of course also available
on your computer or your phone at busverts.fr
Terres de Nacre area: The seaside resorts are served
by line n°3 all year round, and line 103 during school
times, and line 74 in season. The rural villages are
served by line 104 during school time and line 4 all
year round.
