An environment: The Bob and Dolores Hope
estate designed by architect John Lautner
in 1973.
Here are the main characters. It’s a
landscape, a global atmosphere that
creates this cruise collection.
To allow this structure laid here like
a concrete cupola in the desert to live
for the duration of a show.
A community of young women lives there.
They stroll in long garments opposite
other ones in short attire. They incarnate
the ambiguous atmosphere that Los Angeles
breathes; a mutable city that spread
to infinity.
It is a strange territory where the
Hollywood dream mingles with a fascination
for headlines. A magnetic territory where
the essence of glamour blends with an
obscure desire for the gothic.
A fascinating territory where the
conquering architecture defies a seismic
ground waiting to tremble.
Palm Springs, a city that initiated the
resort mindset becomes the scene where
all these travels play out, like an
endless come and go, between here,
there and elsewhere...

Hope créée par l’architecte John Lautner
en 1973.
Voici les personnages principaux. C’est
un paysage, une atmosphère globale qui
conçoit cette collection Croisière. Faire
vivre le temps d’un défilé, cet édifice
posé comme une coupole de béton dans le
désert.
Une communauté de jeunes femmes
l’habitent. Elles déambulent, figures
habillées de longs, contredites parfois
par d’autres filles au comble du vêtement
court. Elles incarnent l’ambiance ambiguë
qu’exhale Los Angeles et ses environs,
cité protéiforme qui s’étale à l’infini.
Territoire étrange où se côtoient le rêve
hollywoodien et la fascination du fait
divers. Territoire magnétique où se mêlent
l’essence du glamour et un obscur désir
gothique. Territoire fascinant où
l’architecture conquérante défie un sol
sismique qui attend de trembler.
Palm Springs, écrin de villégiature, ville
initiatrice d’une philosophie « resort »
devient la scène où se jouent tous ces
voyages, comme d’incessants allersretours, entre ici, ailleurs et là-bas...
